Committed the ultimate knife sin today...

Someone asked to borrow a knife and I handed them my favorite SAK. To be more specific, they asked if I had a screwdriver, so I opened the flat driver and handed it to them.

This is after I've tried my best to correct the blades:

Thankfully, the main cleaned up well enough. Hard to tell since it's such a mirror but there's still some bacon edge towards the tip.

The small blade isn't cleaning up as well with a still annoying amount of bacon tip.

He told me he needed something with more "bite" than either available driver and the small blade worked best. I know it's just a knife but this is my original "good" knife. Everything previous to this were gas station flea market junk. I've had this SAK for decades now. This was in my pocket when you could still use a knife in school and not have people around you faint and SWAT jump through windows. This knife is already a Ship of Theseus to me having had the scales, tweezers, pick, and ring replaced multiple times. But the internals are still original without the blades being sharpened to death.

Never hand out your knife.

People are just annoying.
Well no, you’re still cool. The ultimate knife sin is carrying tip down.

Knives are tools. I don’t loan tools… they either come back in worse condition than they were in originally or never come back.
Knives are tools.

The only people I loan tools too, are people I would give them to if they asked. All those people are dead now, so I no longer loan tools. 🛠️

If someone asked me if I have a knife. I give them a disgusted look and walk away.

Or I say of course I do I’m a Mandalorian.

This the way.

A man who doesn't carry a knife probably doesn't recognize the value of a knife.

A man who doesn't recognize the value of a knife isn't going to treat your knife with respect.

My rule- Never entrust a knife to a man who can't be bothered to carry one himself.

But even if a man carries his own, I'm still rather discriminating.
I may need to print, frame, and hang that on the wall.

I WOULD NEVER!!!!

Is it me or did I miss the damage? They used the blades instead of screw driver? Bent the blades? My co worker asked to use my Buck 112 slim pro, I listed intently and she only used it to open the supply boxes. She even shut it correctly. Though I was worried there may be a staple in the box.😀

THIS IS THE WAY
Sounds like the Mandolorian…..only saw first season. 😀 Yup, or have a cheap second to give out to use, they may look at you funny as you search for it in your man bag…a satchel…..not a murse …Indiana Jones carried a satchel. Except mine has Starbucks mugs on it and it was my daughter’s …..so there goes my manliness.

Sorry tip down is safer, I had a knife with the edge up ( using a clip in the pocket) and when I reached for it, it poked me good. It was slightly open from the flipper being hit. It was a Kizer. I also had one tip up but the point was slightly higher than the handle so it bit me too.

I very rarely lend out a knife. I will be glad to cut whatever the person has though. I will probably buy that person a knife for their next birthday or Christmas, which ever is sooner.

What pocket were you carrying it in? For me, tip up in the right side front pocket, all the way to the right, puts the spine against the seam, so no way it can open.

I had kind of the opposite day, maybe the ultimate knife virtue day.

I had a stuck screw on my hands and it was the 4th and I was far away from the Ten Yard Line. But I got a hail Mary pass from my coworker of a Swiss Army Knife and the small blade blade had just enough bite to break it free.

Touchdown!!!!!!
