Whoa, old thread bttt!

I would love to see a Sebenza with modified Wharnie (oh-so-slight belly), I'd get it even if it was called a GarBenza! (Just ribbing you, G2 :p )

Just a thought: Would folks buy an aftermarket blade, made by someone other than CRK, that could be swapped into the Sebenza handle? (Mod Wharncliffe or whatever, S30V plus other steel options, etc.) I imagine it could be done fairly easily by a maker with access to a CNC machine. Such a venture could be seen as disrespectful, of course; but then Tom Mayo and others tweak the Ti scales in ways that enhance, without dishonoring, the original design. No?

I'd be up for a wharncliffe Sebby for sure. But I guess I can't vote :grumpy:

I have a small regular bought in 99 and love it. I want a dual thumbstud large, but have hesitated because I like a lower point. A Sebenza with a blade exactly like the Mike Irie blade would be perfect for me. CRK makes it, I'll place an order that week.

Why prefer a knife with a poor using point and an ugly design over the current all purpose design?
Even the Tanto blade was not that popular
Chris and company know what they are doing. :D

Ummm....A lower point is not a "poor using point", just different. In fact, I prefer it for cutting man made materials. Which is what I cut the most. Ugly is a matter of opinion....

Those that like a variety would appreciate a selection to choose from, I would, if you've found "The Knife" you are one lucky guy, I've not found it myself yet, still searching! ;)

You guys crack me up. All this talk about a wharny Seb is just a pipe dream. The more you talk it up the more of a let down its gonna be when it doesn't happen. Hehehe...really, stop it before I burst. If you wanna wharny go buy a custom. Leave the Seb alone. If it ain't broke don't fix it. ;) :)

Glad I gave up cornflakes! ;)

But I think that I've finally given up hope and will pursue Mike Irie to make just what I'm looking for and see how it comes out.

As weird as it seems, I had a dream that a box arrived with a Chris Reeve wharncliffish bladed folder to my door steps, so I found this thread to
bring it back up as some times dreams can come true, it seemed so real too :)

As many of you guys know, I'm one of those guys who thinks the Sebenza is a bit over-priced.
But a wharncliffe Sebenza is something that even I would'nt be able to resist!

LOL Gary.. dreams about sebenzas.. I know what you mean! :) (we need help)

Hehe well a guy can dream right??

Anyways a friend in Florida that sent his small wood inlay classic in about
a year ago is sending that one up for me to have, bartar for a lot of sheath
work done plus some sheath work next year, but, at least I know that the
knife that is inbound will have the preferred edge for me, while it still doesn't
have the preferred lower point, ;) I'll get by in the mean time...

Of course this will arrive just before I head to Switzerland again next week! :(
Oh well, don't dare bring it along, since you can lock your suit cases
But she'll be here when I return and will be a nice carry piece for my every
day chores...

Has black wood inlay, nice contrasting to the ti frame.

and I see that the option for a lower pointed blade is climbing slightly, nice...

thread started a few years back in 2002...and now they are making some :)
