Condor Golok

Interesting on the "dullness". I have been going back and forth with them on this. Thanks for letting us all know what you think of it.

Sheaths are part of the equation, but the aim is to keep the price down on this golok. How much would everyone be willing to pay for a sheath if one was made on the side?

It was sharp compared to an Ontario, Cold Steel, or Tramontina, which often have no edge at all. The grind was beautifully polished, but the actual edge was dull. It did not take long to get it sharp. I would pay an extra $20 to $30 for a good leather sheath.

How much longer do we have to wait for these new Condor goodies to be available to the general public?? These pics are killing me.

Horn Dog:

How about comparing your Condor golok with the Bark River version?

Compare an 11" blade to a 14.75" blade? The Condor is a larger and heavier golok. I love the Barkie for its handiness and great chopping ability, but I doubt that it could out chop the larger Condor. The Barkie is a super hedge trimmer. I might compare three very different goloks soon.
It's a long summer with so much to chop and burn. :D

One big way to help (immensely) is by hitting the big buyers up and letting them know you are excited about these, like Smoky Mountain, and tell them to go ahead and order a bunch so we can get everyone moving!!!

The more stuff that gets attention, the more cool stuff you will see come out (like perhaps longer goloks, polypro handled ones, 14" machetes....etc ;) ). But baby steps before, um.. stomping.

The bushcrafter handles will be more rounded, much more.

Condor had a very large booth. wow! many of their knives seem to be very nicely hefty and sharp... good stuff.

of particular interest, is the new line of knives, with wood handles, in a more traditional bushcrafter mode. khukris, nessnuks, bushcraft, skinners, and more... very nice. i have some pictures if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the pics. I really like the looks of their new stuff. Six weeks is a long time to wait for these, but it'll be worth it.

I didn't photograph it, but I did handle it. It has a wooden handle and is fairly light. I think the blade is about 10" or so. Not real thick. Nice little kukri.
Well I dint photo it but I did buy it and the Golok:D but I havn't got to use them yet:(

Yes! That new bolo looks awful good to me, and showing it next to the golok gives a pretty good sense of scale. That thing looks like a chopper! Anyone know what the price will be on those beauties when they come out?

Thanks for the pics, Bladite.

...the new Condor golok.

What's the advantage of the high peak on the tip compared to the plain rounded tip on the Bark River Golok ? That looks like a tough design to wrap a long sheath around. I guess one of the partially open sided kydex sheaths would work well with that.

+1 great review.

I bought one as well, and there is no way I would have paid double the price or more to get a sheath with it.

The blade is sharp all the way to the tip. This works well for chopping things close to the ground. Many machetes have the same feature.

I really want a BRKT Golok, but I won't be able to pass this one up for the price. I guess I'll have to start a golok collection!

The tip may have been a little pointy for style, or may have been made so a little bug dork could pry into a log, to better to catch bugs :)

The golok should be around $40 retail

The bolo may be priced around the $25-$35 area. Enjoy the meal!!

the Kukri has a hole in the blade....what do you guys think of that?
