Condor Knife & Tool owners: Give an honest opinion

Good, solid simple knives that do the job. Knives not the least unlike those used by those Europeans to settle North America basically. The simple rugged forms would have been perfectly at home with any mountain man or over-mountain man, fur trader, or voyageur from the 17th to the 19th century and would be just at home in camp today.

So, just a quick update:

I got an email from Joe Flowers this morning. He mentioned that he had seen me here on BF mention that my Bushlore wasn't quite up to my standards, and offered to replace the knife free of charge.

I sent him an email back explaining that I no longer have the knife (gifted to my father, but I'm just trying to make sure I'm being very clear about the current status of the knife), but that I would accept any donations (:p).

So we'll see what happens, but either way, I'm still impressed that I was contacted for a replacement without actually ever contacting the company. To me that says quite a bit about who they are, and what they are committed to doing. I'll keep everyone updated on what happens.

Ok--shipment landed so here come the pics. Too busy right now to do in-depth descriptions but they're all very impressive! Many of these will be "Grade B" items due to various minor (and largely cosmetic) issues, but the overall quality is excellent. Out of the batch my favorite is the Kephart followed by the Woodlaw--big surprises for me!

For reference I have very small hands. I take a ladies' size 8 glove. :p

Great knives! I own several. My favorite is the Hudson Bay. Great general purpose camp knife.

LOL no they aren't up just yet. Wasn't able to get to it last night. They'll be up today if all goes well. :)

They have Cold Steel beat. The only reason why they cost more is because of their amazing sheath's

Here is my boomslang stripped. I also have a Hudson Bay camp knife and the Nessmuk. I love these knives because I am not afraid to use them hard, and hard use they love! I have taken a liking to pouch sheaths as of late and these sheaths are tough as well.

im moving this week so my bank account has taken a pretty big hit, but im really likin the Warlock the Lochnessmuk and the Toloza.
i forsee an order being placed for a couple new Condors very soon. thanks for the pics man, good looking stuff

No problem! I'm liking the new nylon sheath for the Toloza a lot! Has a snug-fitting polymer insert that gives it good retention, and it isn't overly large from trying to cram the thumb ramp down into a pouch sheath like the old leather one was.

Mr. FortyTwoBlades, I have some questions. The 18 Thai Enep looks to be pretty cool. On one special machete ;) site, they have the thickness listed at 1/4" and the weight as 1.3lbs. You have it listed at 1/8" thickness and 2.1lbs. I am guessing you are more correct, but just wanted to make sure.

Also, I am looking for a chopper. I am really considering the Golok 14", the Engineer Bolo 15", the Svord Kiwi in L6 (really like this one), the 18" Thai Enep, and maybe either of the Condor Kukri's. I was also considering the Warlock, but someone said it doesn't out chop the Golok, so I will need to look more into that blade.

My main use will be my MLO, and general backpacking large knife. I also carry a 4.5" fixed blade, but need something bigger to chop and use as a machete. I do a lot of trail clearing and I am very physically fit so weight for packing nor use is an issue. But, I do like to make use of my tools in many different ways, and like the Native Americans, I like to use all the parts of the buffalo err machete.

The Toloza is a solid, tough knife and it's named after a very brave El Sal soldier.

I've got one of the older pouch sheaths, but would like the newer ballistic one. Any chance of getting one??

It's really crazy just how long my boomslang holds an edge. I gave it a convexed edge that's shaving sharp, and after 4 hours of cutting trees, brush, etc, it is still more than reasonably sharp. 1 minute on my worksharp and it's back to shaving.

their HT is awesome

Condor Engineer bolo..... Rugged, nice enough sheath, Works great at keeping my hiking trails clear.:thumbup::thumbup:
