Condor Knives 2014

This is why I love Condor, their product line is eclectic like Cold Steels, but they actually know how to properly price their products.

I am probably going to buy the wood handled El Salvador machete and more than likely the moonshiner. It is not a big emergency as I don't need either of these and have been very satisfied with Condor products in general.

Lots of awesome knives, but, while probably not as efficient or practical, I'd like some of them to be at least 0.25" inches thick. :D

Be careful what you hope for bud. Sometimes thick and big means boat anchor on your belt. :)

Not a fan of boat anchors unless of course I need it to anchor a boat. :D Condor has been coming out with some cool stuff yearly. Since Joe Flowers has become involved, sure beats what they had the first year or two after Condor started and was looking for dealers.

So, have any of you folks purchased any recently?
Would like to hear your thoughts...

My Solobolo arrived on my porch today according to the tracking info. I'll post initial impressions once I get home and tear open the boxes :D.

Just got an initial limited selection of 2014 models in and am working on getting them up now. My own initial impressions are positive, with my favorite actually being the wooden handled El Salvador.

*sighs* Awww, I was hoping for some of the new models to be in 420HC like some of the machetes. Oh well, guess that saves me money.

I picked up the Bombus. Great for use with the thumb or in pinch grips. Super small but the micarta sets it off.

I'd also like to heartily recommend Benjamin's(FortyTwoBlades) sharpening/reprofiling work. I told him I'd wait until around this time to recommend his services to others. I always choose the special grade, and he always delivers exactly what I asked for. I told him I wanted the Bombus convexed with the primary/secondary intersection rounded, and that's exactly what I got, along with a zero grind! Fantastic work. Don't be afraid to go for that special grade, or even pay a little for some reprofiling! (Sorry Benjamin, but I don't think you'd complain about the extra business. :) ) Anyway, a few early morning pics from my couch.

Sorry for all the pics. This was exactly the kind of post I wanted to see before buying the Bombus, or any knife really; I hope it will help someone make a decision.

Oh thanks! That took a bit of work to do since the knife is actually a slight hollow grind but I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. :)
