Condor's 2011 catalog is up

dang it!
you had to post all this right after work announced some potentially brutal budget cuts!
that big wood handled not-khuk above the parang is seriously tasty looking!

Do any Florida retailers carry these knives? The company seems to have headquarters in Orlando Fl., and it would be nice to be able to see and hold them as oppose to looking at pictures on the net.

Not sure, you could contact the email on the site, and he might be able to point you in the right direction

Not sure if these are going to be in production, but they sure are cool, and SHARP!

I can hear BOC now - Oh, No! There goes Tokyo! Go Go Joezilla!!!

We're not worthy!

I just ordered a Bushlore. I hope it's worth the $27 I paid for it.
I ordered it from knifeworks.com.

Now that I'm home and not using a mobile device I can see the little "Condor" on the blades. Nice touch! Now do a video of them batoning toothpicks. :D

All I can say is I hope all the new stuff hits the market soon--I plan on getting as many of them in-hand as possible!:thumbup:

Now we know where the name for the Rodan came from! :D:thumbup:

Do some sluething and you may see some other names pop up that are similar to giant monster movies

They are now sharpening the Bushlore model on a jig, the edge is extended to the top of the handle, and it's in 1/8" stock now. Not sure about other models, but they've done a lot of revamps.

They are listening to their customers. There was a discussion about ESEE doing this on their new Laser Knife but it doesn't look like they will do it.

Does the sheath for the Bushlore Knife secure the knife in any way or can the knife easily fall out of it?

I dont know about the new ones but my Bushlore sheath is fairly deep and tight it aint gonna fall out any time soon. The Survival Craft has got my interest I wanna see what the street price is going to be on them and maybe a review. The thing that sucks is the only place I know to get them is SMKW and they dont even put all the models they carry on the website (lazy freaking webmaster) so I might not even know when the become available.

Street price for the SurvivalCraft should be around that of a Mora if I'm not mistaken. ;)

Probably a little more due to the leather sheath

I noticed in the catalog that the Hudson Bay has a new finish. Does anyone know if this is just a texture in the powder coating? I doubt it's actually a hammered finish. I'm wanting to get one, but I'll probably strip it and force patina. Also, I believe one of the SHOT show vids I say stated that the are extending the cutting surface to the handle on the Bushcraft line as well. Anyone else heard this?

according to page 3 of the catalog:
CONDOR® CLASSIC FINISH is a perfected process of hand
hammering our Classic Series of axes and knives. It gives a classic
and enhanced look to an already well made tool. Our employees use
hand powered equipment to put this traditional pattern on, to give it a
look as if it was hand forged over 200 years ago. The Classic series is
a hit with historical camping fans, mountain men, and colonial period
war reenactors.

Ah, I had missed that. Now I guess I have to decide whether to get the current type or classic finish....hmmm. Wish I could see an actual picture of one.
