Confession

Thank you for your contributions here, and for the grace and strength you've shown in sharing this. As Howard said, nobody's getting out of this place alive.

Don't rush anything, but please say hi to the folks on the other side, and save a chair.

My prayers are with you. If you choose to get treatment, there are options and you can explore them. Many people are helped these days.
Walk the path you have been put on with grace and dignity. Don't forget to look to the Creator, now might just be the time.

Sogguy, I don't know what to say. God.

I probably know better than most what it feels like. But don't keep it all locked away. Live the crap out of your life, man. If these things do anything, they make you realize how important things are and how little time we all have to do those things we always wanted to do.

Just hang in there, bro. Don't forget us. We're friends and we'll be here in all the hard times, ok? I know this place has been a rock for me.

Take care, have good spirits, and leave no regrets. Just do it all, my friend.

Love and respect,

Chris

Prayers going out. May God bless you with all that you stand in need of. This time here is but a blink of an eye and the journey continues. I am sure we will all meet again beyoond the veil.

Soguy,

I am gonna miss you. I always have enjoyed your posts and your insights. If you get time check back in cause I have kind of always felt you were a good guy and enjoyable to be around.

Dick,
If I ever have to deal with the kind of news you have been given, I hope I can do so with as much grace and acceptance as you. Remember that you have many friends here, and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Smoke from Seattle. Hope it all works out for the best, whatever you choose to do.

I have long believed, that whenever we get to where we're going, we'll find friends waiting there. You'll be in my prayers Dick, you're a good man, and good men will be remembered.

As others suggested, please try another oncologist (I don't know anyone:o ).
Bless you and thanks.
I thank you and others that have made that suggestion, I now have three. One here, one in Salt Lake and one in Sacramento, I have an agreement with any Doctor I see, that requires him/her to treat me as a family member, with honesty and accuracy. The only differences between them is length of time and the level of discomfort. and, which one gets my golf clubs.
After watching both of my parents suffer with cancer and the treatments as well as several friends, I choose "quality of life rather than quantity" I have not been to Greenland or Antartica, but don't feel I've missed much.
The Cantina and it's members are indeed like a family, and I feel blessed to be considered as part of it. Many of you have become close friends and confidants, and I truly thank you. I will stay involved as long as my travels and endurance allows.
All of the kind words help one believe he has left a positive mark, thank you.

Dick

Dick, thank you for letting us know, even if its not the best news in the world. Thank you for contributing to the Cantina. No matter what happens, you will always be a part of it, and of us.

Bob

It can't hurt to get a second opinion on a course of treatment.
Take it from me... it can be a very good idea.

Smoke and prayers from Vermont. I wish I had more of a chance to get to know you. The words of this community speak volumes about your character.

Kicking doors in Detroit, we always had a competition going as to who could bail out of the car and get thru the door first....of course narcotic enforcement is and was always a team sport. This time, friend, it appears you MAY beat me thru the door.....Wait for me on the other side, and we'll have a brew. God bless you and yours.
