Dan and I are muscle car aficionados. Love 1968 Chevelles. Best lines of any muscle car ever made in my opinion. We owned 2 of them when we were in our teens.

Both had 327 small block V-8s with 400 turbo trans and 12 bolt rear ends. One had a 370 rear gear and the other ran a 456 gear that redlined in seconds!

We went to the Milan, Michigan drag strip this past summer to watch the 1/4 mile runs.

Lots of horsepower ripping up the track. We had not been there in the past 30 years. They now have 1/8 mile dashes which I thought were awesome!

Although he loves the 1/4 mile runs, my brother said fast sprints, coincidentally, like the big 1/8 mile dashes are not his favorite.

When asked about their overwhelming popularity, he did agree that nearly every time, big dashes bolster attendance and help to keep the sport alive.

It does seem like the 1/8 mile runs are practically over before they start.

Any other muscle car nuts out there?

Let's drink!!!

Alright...I'm going this "...to my Lou" plus the big 1/8 mile dash reference and, I suppose, rewording my guess to:

BIG Skinny ASH

Skinny from "Skip to my Lou".

That's my last guess, I'm done.

V8 is my next guess, added every other fraction in the track story. Got 5/8. V is also 5 in Roman numerals. Also lots of references to V8. This is it!

"History
Skip to My Lou was a popular partner stealing song and dance from the American frontier period. As musical instruments were not generally acceptable, especially the fiddle, dancers created their own music by clapping and singing.

Couples would dance around a single male who sang "lost my partner, what'll I do." When the couples sang "I'll find another one prettier than you," the male would "steal" a new partner from a dancing male. The dancing man would take his place in the circle to sing "lost my partner, what'll I do."

'Lou' seems to be a variation of 'loo,' which is the Scottish word for love."

"Love" here directly referencing a full convex basic 8. *drops mic*

Im sure there are plenty of guesses just like this one, but NMTG. Skipping the FSH. The poem sounds like a nuclear apocalypse. Will have an 8 in blade? I know eight is somehow related.

to complete the phrase 'I could've had a V8' referring to a Basic B8 Variant

From the drink recipe post.

Is that drink called a darling?

Darling Steel Heart

grasping at straws...:D

From "Went to the race track with my brother this past summer. . . ."

V-8 = Valentine's day special B-8 LE with Red (from redlined)res handle available in 1/8" and 1/4" for 327 and 370 respectively

B8 is my next guess skipped the first fraction from the track thread and then went every other one, added them together to get 2/8. Since b is the second letter in the alphabet then this is my guess.

Oops!!!. . . I Could've Had A V8 ???? A V8 What????? . .

skip to my Lou!!!!!

The “lou” in the title comes from the word "loo", a Scottish word for “love.”

you Love 1968 Chevelles
