Convince me to buy a BK4

I've read the posts. I've already bought the 5 & 15 because they are going away. So is the BK4 apparently. I need a little help; why a BK4?
 
if you want a 4, get a 4.
don't buy it as a cash investment, because it's not likely to appreciate much in value.
if you don't want a 4, don't get one.
buy a 9 to use while you save up for an RBK instead.
 
Dynamic; that's saying a lot; I'd like to know why if you don't mind, please. A 9 and 21 are next ups. I;m guessing the bk4 may be going away based on other posts and the fact it's being discounted like the 5 & 15; that's all.

My dilemma is there are no brick and mortar stores to checkout a bk4; that's why I'm asking the forum members. I have to admit; I'm thrilled with the 5 & 15; had no idea of how sweet these designs would be; they are crazy good slicers. I guess the bk4 will be awesome as well; just don't understand its design (yet)...

These are literally the only 2 references to the 4 going away/being discontinued. I will readily admit that I am frequently a mushroom.

Sure.
I like to keep what I keep to a minimum. I felt like both the 4 and the 9 filled the same spot for me. I liked the 4's profile more than the 9, and felt that it did better with the small stuff. Perhaps it didn't chop as well, but that was ok by me.
A friend of mine liked the 9 a lot, didn't have a Becker yet, and so for Christmas or his Birthday or something (they're both very close together) I gave him mine.

Edit: Do remember that this is just my limited experience.

You can get a BK4 for $65~$68 from a couple of the BF Dealers. Whether it's discontinued or simply just 'on sale', the price would likely go back up so that, at the least, you should be able to get what you paid for it. Any that you don't could just be considered the 'rental' fee for test driving it.

I got to handle a 4 at a show and decided against it. I already have a 5 and a 16 and have no need for something larger. Of course, that doesn't mean I wouldn't jump on a sweet deal on a 9 or Kukri. ;)
 
I do believe Warrior's linked thread says it all. Only reason I haven't gotten one yet is I think I'm getting one for Christmas.

Really.......So I can test drive it to see if I ....need....one also right......
 
Buy a 4. A man without a 4 is like a man without a 9. The difference is 5. Buy a 5 too.
 
I've owned a 9 for just a couple years now and I've always
felt that I wouldn't exactly need a 4, but found the design
really interesting and still do. I'm getting my very first 5
for Christmas and I don't know if I need any more large
knives...but damn, it's tempting. I love my 9, it's my baby
and I don't want her to think she's being replaced, y'know? ;)
But I hope it's not going away because I would love to own
one someday.

I sure as hell hope you two know each other.....or that's just creepy. Actually if you DO know each other, why don't you TALK. You know, face to face.
