I think this thread name will change to "Convince me to buy JUST ONE Emerson" when you pull the trigger on one again.

So buy a new one from one of the many companies that allow returns, and give it a try. Don't abuse it so it can be returned and try it out for a couple of days.

And if you keep it, see how long it is before you're contemplating what your next one will be!

C'mon, life is short. Test the waters...

I never owned an Emerson until recently....always carrying either a Spyderco, Benchmade, ZT, or my Hest/F. one month later, the CQC-7A has not left my pocket and ive even let some of my other folders go. Im really not sure why I waited so long, but better late than never.

Welcome, Lee D.

thank you sir  ...im more than happy with my 7A as my edc folder (did I mention im selling off many of my other folders? lol), and if it wasn't for the holidays (I have two teenage daughter to shop for ), id have probably ordered another Emerson. im leaning towards the the CQC-13 SF Bowie, with the Gentleman Jim SF a close second, but it wont be until after new years when I have a little extra $$$ again before I have to make that decision.

As for GJ vs 13, very different animals. Depends on intended usage. I have scarcely had my GJ anywhere but my hands or pocket since unboxing it several weeks ago. As for the 13, while I don't have one of those, I do have three Tigers which have the same handle, so I obviously like them too.

So thanks to Silvans, I just bought a Regular Commander model in the stonewash finish. Found it for such a good price that I managed to also get the Benchmade Contego 810 1401 with the blue/black G10! Will post pics when they arrive. =D

I bought my first Emerson because of the reputation behind it (Super Karambit). Aside from that, it's hard to beat the quality of an Emerson IMO, outside of a completely handmade custom. Hell, I've had some of my other Corpsmen acquaintances handle my used-but-true Horseman and a friend's Sebenza 25, and all but one preferred my Horseman.

I also like the utilitarian, tried and true simplicity of an Emerson. I don't mean this statement as an insult. There's no gimmicky lock like the Ti-Lock, or off-the-wall G10 pattern cuts like the Profili, or needless features like the Auto LAWKS. An Emerson is simply built, simply strong, and simply--just works.

i started with a kershaw emerson collab, then 2, now i've just picked up a mini cqc7 in kryptek, already paid for a modded a100, and eyeing a mini a100, and a mini commander, and a mini cqc15.....

will the list ever end?!?!?!?

Combat Karambit, PUK, CQC-8, Horseman, CQC-7A and B....
