Copied or influenced?

I think that if you drew it without copying someone's it's yours to make. A suggestion to help get things lined up and seeing if they will work is to make the blade and frame out of some good thin material . I like micartaor arborite with the pivot nole actual size to the one you want to use and see how they work together. It's a simple thing and works super for me. Frank

Woo hoo I finally got "The Tactical Folding Knife" in the mail today. It took the better part of a month, but the "used like new" condition was a bit of an understatement, I swear that the book has never been opened before it got to my hands. Looks like I have some reading to do the next few days:thumbup:

I am nearly ready to start this knife, all I have to do is decide what steel to use. I will be buying the steel through knifemaker.ca and have narrowed it down to RWL34, 154cpm, s30v.
I would be going with a satin finish so the ability to polish it wouldn't be a factor, but I still do most of my work with hand tools and a 30X1" grinder so the steel that is easiest to work with would be better for me. All 3 are within a few cents of each other in price so the total difference in price for the size I need is all of 3 bucks, so price isn't anything to worry about either.

So which of the three is easiest to work with? I have a 154CM blade and like the performance of it, and these three steels are said to be an improvement over that.
