Copperheads/Copperlocks: show time!

Thanks for bumping this one. I just put an e-mail in to my favorite on-line knife store regarding a Mini CopperLock. If all goes well I'll contribute to this thread the right way in a week or so.

Chuck G made this for me.

Needless to say, I am very happy with it.

PS: I can't figure how to make the photo large. Suggestions appreciated.

Tom: The photo you uploaded *is* small; there's no way to make it bigger. You need to upload a larger picture and link that new pic...I hope you have a larger one because I wanna see that beauty!

Am a wharncliffe fan, good for scraping, cleaning fingernails, and easy to sharpen / strop. 2011 release, fit and finish is good for the price, the blade near the tang missed getting buffed on the one I got. Always liked blue but was a little disappointed the true color is lighter than the online stock Petite Sky photos. Wish mini copperheads came in CV.

I'm going to get a full size copperlock, and the pinched bolsters interest me. Any comments on these? What do they do for the knife? For the grip?

Thanks for this thread, by the way.

Jason, I love the grand canyon bone and the little yella Case Wharncliffe jack. If'n you find the "extra" one, gimme a holler! ;)

Interesting Bökers there Jason.

Got a Copperlock myself, in green bone. Like the Washboard scales Böker do, some come in a green version as well. Really agree with you about the Queen No.41 Liner lock, ext. useful amount of tough blade in a compact handle, my ACSB version gets a lot of use.

The #41L is a little tank of a knife. Every time I pick it up I ask myself why I don't carry it more.

No, thanks for unearthing this one. The pattern merits a bit more discussion, there are other knife patterns that seem to get all the chatter...

Those could be Steel Warriors but I'm hazarding a guess.

Here's my Queen linerlock/slipjoint Copperhead in D2. Compact but extremely tough as I mentioned before.

Sorry for the necro, but does anyone know what brand these are? I've seen them before and can't place it.

Elk Ridge.....But not sure if they still make em or not.
You may find some on our fav auction site....
It's weird you asked about today,I got these out for first time since pics
were taken just about an hour ago....
They're a copy of the large case copperlock...Frost made several brands of the
mini case copperlock....Im pretty sure they're no longer avail either....
Hope this helps,
JD

The original poster (jdracing) is still an active member and is in fact on-line right now. You could PM him with questions.

Edit: Oops, never mind, he saw the thread and responded. :)

But waste not want not, here's a couple from CASE in Rootbeer Bone and what CAN be called Redbone(pocketworn)

Yeah, the Elk Ridge I posted info above are the Large Copperlocks.....Now the Steel warriors
are the smaller mini-Copperlocks......Not saying there all good, but i've as of yet to find a bad one.
I think it's one of Frost better made knives, but then again...I've had some good luck with quality
on most of the newer patterns i've tried......Have not purchased any Steel warriors in awhile,or Frost
either......These are few I had in a display awhile back....Just happened to find the picture, thought
I would share.
jd

My favorite is the Cherokee branded in top left corner.....They're all bone....It's a kinda red smooth bone......

That's right, elk ridge! Man, it seems like I missed out on those. I have seen the frost ones, though not the Cherokee. Thanks for the info. Very nice collection!

Wow, very nice! I made the mistake of passing on a nice Queen Gunstock & Boker Copperliner this past weekend at the local monthly flea market.

Finally got some group shots of most of them

A pair of Case Copperheads. Seems a somewhat overlooked pattern, none the less one of my favorites!:D

Nice pair of Case's Ron. With the wharncliffe blades, would those be considered Improved Copperheads? Just curious as it seems the Case and Case/Bose variations with that blade combo are often referred to as "Improved".

My one and only Copperhead. Been carrying this one for the last several days.

Bob - Case actually adds a letter "W" or 6249W to the model number for instance on these 2 bone examples. I have not noticed the term "Improved" used on the Case models
which have a Wharncliffe blade. :) I am still admiring that Queen City, single blade. Case has made several single blade Copperheads over the years. They are slim and easy in the pocket.:D
