Cornucopia of New Products to Debut @ Shot Show 2013, article

Anyone know why BG was banned?

Or does talking about banning get you banned?

It is hard for me to believe that anyone from the gentlemanly Buck, mild not wild, Forum could be disruptive to such an extent.

The Harvest series has the Waterfowler which is the same knife as the Ergo Hunter Small Game, and both are said to have a wharncliff blade. The Rosewood Ergo Hunter (Avid model) that I have has more of a Drop point blade. There are others members that have blades similar to mine as well. I wonder if they will be true Wharncliff style blades or the blade styles will differ from batch to batch.

I like the look of P Dave's blade, I was hoping to pick one up like that with the wood handle.

Thank you kindly Earl for the photos.

May you live a thousand years.

Safari Club? Any juicy cutlery there?

Whoa. Lovin' the look of the 124 with that drop point. Wonderful. Something like that in the 4" to 5" range and phenolic handles would be cool!

Bummer about BG42.

I think that's just the curvature of the page or something and not an actual DP 124.

Some neat looking new Buck Knives. The 626 Intrepid - XL knives look interesting. Thanks for posting pics;)

The above is an excellent article also on the new knives: The link talks about the other knives also:thumbup:

Survival/Tactical Knives

Buck/Hood Thug– USA Made

This year Buck introduces another Buck/Hood creation, based off the designs of the late Ron Hood. Adding another survival knife will serve to complement the highly-demanded designs. The Thug features the integrated Shock Mitigation System (SMS) to minimize wasted energy during use, has a removable CNC textured Micarta® handle scale and includes a heavy-duty nylon, M.O.L.L.E compatible sheath with front storage carry pouch. Measuring 13” in overall length and with a weight of 11.6 oz., this rugged midsize survival knife was built to withstand extreme conditions. MSRP: $200

Reaper– USA Made

Black traction coated, full tang blade and textured handles help transform this sleek 11” knife into a powerfully effective survival tool. Handle choices are offered in Reaper Black camo or a Viper Snakeskin pattern, leaving a knife that exudes absolute stealth. With a blade measuring 6 ¾”, the 420HC drop point features a non-reflective coating for added invisibility in the field. MSRP: $90

Intrepid L & XL – USA Made

Built to serve the field needs of Military personnel, the large and X-large Intrepid are a heavy duty, no-nonsense approach to getting the job done. Designed with superior strength and added invisibility, the black 5” tanto blade is non-reflective. The textured injection molded nylon handle is available in Reaper Black camo and black. MSRP: $100-$130

The Intrepid only lasted for 4 years so we'll see how it plays out fore the second time. 4 years isn't very long in the scheme of things. If it failed before what make them think it will be a hit this time. They are cool to look at but impractical to use. I had both and they weren't that great. I hope there better this time.

I'm also interested in why they brought the Intrepid back. I like it, but like MB said, it's not real practical. Maybe it will last longer this time though since many people now seem to like a sharpened pry bar.

Guess BG rubbed someone wrong one too many times. He's the only member of this forum which I have EVER put on my ignore list.
