could it be possible Microtech changed the looks of the ZT 0777 clone?

Yes, FASTER. How can a company copy a design and bring it out significantly faster to market than the company that originally made the design to begin with?? And this was made by another USA company, not China with poor work place laws. ZT would have already had a time advantage to start with?? Its a reasonable question.
Maybe because MT puts out CRAP.That's a reasonable answer!

I dont work for KAI or have insider knowledge, but from following all of their announcements this is what I assume. ZT has a whole lot of R&D so that the product kinks can be worked out before production. They will also be making many more pieces than MT, they have to handle material availability plus have the production schedule to make it. Remember apart from them making many Kershaw models and the entire ZT line, they have come out in the past year with many new designs(0551, 0550, Tilt, 0560-1...etc) whose demand is also very great. in fact so great is demand for certain products KAI has decided to trim their line and streamline and is continuously improving their factory.

Many knife companies have knives in development for many years(i.e. Spyderco tuff), what Thomas did was allow it's customers to preview such and share with the world how ZT is evolving. Unfortunately what this event with Tony has created is for KAI to be more reserved on what they show or exhibit.
Well said. Additionally, while the knives are superficially similar (i.e., MT ripped off the blade shape and handle shape/material from ZT), the ZT has features that the MT doesn't, including a composite blade with a new combination of materials (damascus spine, M390 cutting edge), user-adjustable sub-frame lock (which I'm sure ZT is testing the hell out of to make sure it's perfect, something I really doubt MT did), and KVT pivot.

To draw an analogy, what MT has done would be like another car company copying the bodywork/styling of a Ferrari without the internal components/engineering/performance that sets a real Ferrari apart.

MT is a waste of money.Known for bad customer service.

Nothing good can come from a MT thread in general in my opinion, especially one that contains another product of theirs that shows shady credibility at best.

Yea, probably as good a time as any to lock this down. This thread has run it's course.
