Could this be the worst dumbest knife ever ?

My first thought was “Who died?”. My pill looks like that one, and came in a velvet box. It has a pinch of a departed buddy’s ashes in it.

In any place where blades are prohibited, I can’t see that as being considered acceptable either, if it’s discovered.

Jim

Isn't that why it's a pill? Just quickly swallow it to avoid detection and later it can be easily retrieved for use another day :D

I think it's a strong contender, who wants a " knife " that's just barely enough to open a package and really not a knife at all ?
What's with a these idiots trying to invent alternatives to just carrying an actual knife ?
There's tons of videos for crap like this on YouTube, loads of small keychain tools that they appear to intend as an alternative to actual knife carry.
I don't know about you but while my needs don't require much blade a 1/2" long little sharp-ish cutting surface is definitely not enough for me.

There are places where carrying even a tiny SAK can get you a hefty fine. Something like this makes sense there.

Why ?
They'd still consider this a knife, so why not carry a small real knife anyways and just be discreet about how and when you use it.

People like tiny little impractical things. Having the smallest knife or pen or bottle opener really does it for some folks.

Same logic why some people insist on only using a traditional knife that ceased evolving half a century ago. Should people that like old Barlows be derided?

Not even close to the same thing, this is the absolute bare minimum that would only be enough for a few cutting particular cutting tasks and barely better than nothing at a few others if you're clever about how you use it.
A small traditional can cut extremely well and punch way above it's weight packing a ton of capability into a small package.

BTW I'd say folding knives got as good as they ever really needed to get and traditional folders are just as perfect of a choice for an extremely practical everyday pocket knife as they ever were.

Careful, I resemble that remark.... :)

I can only think how some rube will eventually swallow this thing. Just for it to accidentally open

I've got a bunch of those little keychain pill vials. Some smaller than others. Now I'm picturing a sharpened flathead bit sink into epoxy in the lower half of one. May take more than two minutes to make, but still under two dollars. :D

It's not dumb, it's just very limited. I would rather go with one of those small Spydies ( Mecha Mecha ). I bet they are way better at cutting. Even pills. (At the bottom of image). The smallest is "The Bug", the medium is "The Honeybee".

I kinda like it. ;) Not as a knife to carry in places you're not allowed to carry a knife, but because I like odd little keychain gizmos.

I've seen a few zipper-pull knives with more useful looking edges, though.

That's why it's sort of starting to grow on me, not as a cutting tool but because it has some interesting aspects to it.
I think bflying is onto something, except I'd leave the driver bit as a normal driver bit.
Would be a cool zipper pull or keychain for someone with glasses.

These two vintage imperials are even smaller than the bug and I'm sure way more useful than this pill blade.
I keep them razor harp ( the Craftsman is supposed to be a tie clip and lives on my shirt ) and do use them occasionally.

I pretty well always have a Beer Scout, or the Humback whitler or a Bullet End Jack or one of the Northwoods SFOs in my pocket unless I'll be out in driving rain all day.

They're fine cutting tools; modern knives have exceeded their performance but they're not extinct and that wouldn't be a reason to bash them or people that like them.

I just find the hater/bash threads to be vapid. Why take an issue with someone making a new kinfe? If it's not for you then don't buy it and if it's really not a good knife no one will buy it and it will pass through history unremarked.

I can understand that.

Heck, I don't know how many years its been since I carried a knife designed after 1940!
