Country of origin

I like quality, so if the quality is there, I'll buy it.

I have knives from different countries and don't block a knife BECAUSE of its country, that'd be RACIST.
Perhaps you should start collecting knives from Pakistan.

The word being used was "racist", and no, it's not a myth.
I've known plenty in my life.

I get your point . . . racists are misguided people that base their perceptions on a notion with no basis in reality. I'd say they're more to be pitied than censored were it not for the damage they cause. History is replete with their carnage.

Yeah, I've seen the books on that.
I get their point, but we do use the word race. They use race on Census reports(and many other things) for example.

Anyway, we are getting WAY of topic now.

As long as its fair Trade I will buy from anyone if the quality is up to snuff. I will not buy from China, as this is not the case and our own government knowningly allows this to happen.... DONE

Yep. We perpetuate the fiction of race to our own discredit. And I'm not altogether sure it isn't appropriate for a discussion involving country of origin. But I agree it's time to get back to discussing knives.

For me, I don't mind where it's made too much.
I'd prefer Canada, but I even buy knives from strange foreign places like the USA. ;)

I have some from China, and they're fine.

If I were going to boycott countries, I'd go with Germany and Japan as places not to deal with.
Seeing as we did have a pretty big war with them about something or other. :)

Yep. We might as well throw the Germans and the Japanese on the boycott list too. How many Americans did they kill in WWII?

Lots of examples you can point to, Ken, but not a single one based on fact. There is no such thing as race! We are all one genus, one species, one subspecies . . . Homo sapiens sapiens. There are no further biological subdivisions based on the notion of race nor are there sufficient genetic variances to support such a notion.

What you say may be technically correct, however I am certain that everyone other than you is using the term as it is used in our society today, in common usage as well as a word recognized by our legal system.

Big big difference. We destroyed the fascist governments of Germany Japan and Italy and those countries became democracies and US allies for the last 70 years.
In contrast, the "China" that was a US ally in WWII was beaten by the communists and chased off to Taiwan in 1948. China, aka Communist China sent 250,000 troops into the Korean Peninsula in 1950 to kill US and other UN troops from 16 other countries. They supported North Vietnam against us and today vetoes everything we do
in the UN Security Council. Put simply, they are a dictatorship that is not our "ally" but an "adversary". They train with the US Navy as the designated enemy today right now. It''s best to know some history if making comments making reference to it. I see there are some pretty adamantly "anti-China" comments posted and it's only with some historical knowledge that such positions can at least be understood.
