CPK and Whisky (or other vices), a pictorial

This picture hurts. It is really, really hard to score a bottle of Blanton's over here.
I feel your pain man, I haven't seen it on the shelves in years.
It's Whiskey flippers in my area. The local liquor stores have a 2 bottle per person limit on a few different brands(Blantons, Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace).
The scumbags will bring friends and family with them to buy as many as they can.
You either have to find a bribe-able store owner or buy it from the flippers.
Which IMO has caused the retail cost to go up
I hate flippers...

Okay I have a question...

Can one of you guys suggest a decent priced sipping tequila?
Yes! Well, sort of. I can tell you what I like. I love tequila. I enjoy tequila neat, but most often I mix equal parts tequila and lime juice on ice with a splash of water. I can sip copious quantities of that concoction! I go to tequila for agave flavor and twang, so it's the most agave-heavy silver tequilas for me. My favorites are Patrón Roca, El Tesoro de Don Felipe, and Fortaleza. Don Julio is an interesting specimen that mixes magically with grapefruit juice. I like the standard Patrón too. Olmeca Altos is kinda firey, but for mixing and quaffing it has great agave flavor and it's cheap. Those are all silver. For sipping neat, I'd likely lean toward a reposado, perhaps Fortaleza or Patrón. You might like Don Julio 1942 (añejo), but that's getting more pricey. I really prefer silver with a bite, in tequila. I'd just drink Scotch if I wanted to sip something neat. Shoots, just get the Fortaleza, any variety, you can't go wrong with that, it's not that agave heavy. Maybe try the añejo, you might find it smoother for sipping neat. Silver tequila is freshly distilled, reposado is aged in oak up to a year, and añejo is aged in oak over a year. More rare out there are extra añejo (3+ years), and crystal, which is a filtered añejo: no color but lots of oak/butter.

If anyone comes across a bottle of Don Julio 1942, I will pay for the trouble of sending it to the frozen North....
What are the legalities of said action? I don’t have much trouble finding 1942, but I don’t know that it would make it to you either, and I sure don’t want an ATF agent knocking on my door after the fact.

Edit: I just realized that by saying this, Nathan will likely bump me to let me know there is no issue with me sending it to NC and that he will accept full responsibility for the action if I do.
