CPK and Whisky (or other vices), a pictorial

All this is why I’ve gone peat heavy scotch and good irish like green/yellow spot and redbreast
Still have about a 1/4 bottle of red spot from a few years back.

Grocery store had a lottery system to buy about 20 different types of booze.
Got two bottles of McKenna bonded, an eagle rare and that for retail prices. Missed out on both Weller offerings and the old fitzgerald. Oh well, next time.

The solution, clearly, is owning or being romantically involved with a booze store owner. Assuming you can shift enough swill to get the stuff you want from the distributor.
Life’s funny. I am friends with a booze store owner - three locations. I just don’t have the disposable income to buy the “good stuff” and CPK’s.

Crackin' a little KC9 tonight.

Went and checked after my last post here; turns out it is Tequila season! Yay! :D

Couple things I failed to mention earlier, Yoko:
-Make sure it's 100% agave. That will be on the label.
-Make sure it's additive free. This will not be on the label. No "gold" tequilas. Tequila Matchmaker does an additive free certification, but many additive free tequilas do not have it. Research and/or guess. I'd guess your chances are favorable at $40+.
-If you want strong agave flavor and bite, get tequila made with tahona (volcanic stone wheel) crushed agave. For most tahona crushed tequilas I know (Fortaleza being the one exception), this also means the crushed plant material is macerated in the must?/wash?/mash? through the fermentation and initial distillation. Patrón is a blend of tahona crushed/macerated, and steel roller mill crushed/not macerated tequilas.
-My final piece of advice: Tequila is a subset of Mezcal, but very different than non-Tequila Mezcal. Never, ever make the mistake of imbibing non-Tequila Mezcal!!!
