CPK and Whisky (or other vices), a pictorial

I think I forgot to bring a cpk with me for the short weekend back home.

Eagle Rare is generally unobtainium around here. I did pick up a couple of other bottles off the allocation shelves last week...McKenna and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. The Elijah Craig came in at 129 proof.
Picked up a bottle last week. There were 3 bottles when I walked in and one when I walked out. Of course we are limited to one. I missed the Blantons.

Tasting notes please.

Apologies for the late reply.

This is one is really good. I have had Ry3 before and I've always had a good experience - I like their varied barrel finishing, always adds something interesting. With this one, I confess that I did not really know what Naranja was. I have had other orange liqueurs, of course, but I had not put two and two together until I sipped on this rye. I was surprised at the citrus notes that permeate throughout - from nose to finish (which led me to pay attention and look up Naranja). There is orange citrus, honey and a hint of vanilla, some spice and all of that comes together in a very pleasant rye. I have not tried it in an Old Fashioned yet but this is tailor made for one.

Yea I use glass with a handle.View attachment 2748552

Of the sins present in this photo, the glass is the least of them.

(😁 - just poking fun at you)

I’ve enjoyed Pendleton for a lot of years. Not sure if it being “near to local” is the primary reason. Well, being my 54th b-day, I thought I’d try out their 10 year Bourbon. It’s a delightful surprise !

Granted, I mentioned it being my birthday. Please don’t make a scene about it, if you’re so inclined. I plan on getting a ‘lil tipsy and not responding to one single post ! 😜

Cheers CPK ! I hope you all have a wonderful evening.

MC
