Cpk edc

Subscribed. Also, very glad to have the forum here as I am not a facebook user. The only times I've ever been 'over there' was to check what you had coming up for sale. With this forum, I hope I can now avoid it all together. :D

Lorien! You tease!!!

Now put that back in the machine, and press "START"!! ;) --- :D

I so wanted to take a jab..."great but it's not going to grind itself!! :D" but am not risking getting thrown out of here in the first week. Or worse yet, "no knife for you!!" (said in my best soup nazi voice). So I'll leave it at noone likes a tease! :D

Looking forward to seeing what that blank blooms into

First off. Very happy this sub forum now exists.

And very happy to see the EDC thread. I've been looking forward to this since first hearing about it on a light chopper thread.

I'm down for the pre-order. Although it would be nice to score the EDC Proto to match my Light Chopper Proto. :)

Gave up my aluminum hat and now use a stainless steel one .Mine are actually colanders the holes provide good cooling .Can't find a titaniumone.

I think you're on to something! Doubles as (anti)religious headgear, to boot!

Awwwe man. I'm in.
CPK EDC...
Tinfoil hats of questionable resources...

I'm not sure the best way to do this. In the past, most sales followed a format where knives were posted at 3:00 on Friday in the fixed blade area and that was pretty much it. Now that we have a forum here it opens other possibilities including presales and online lists etc.

I will probably continue to do the Friday sales on the fixed blade sale area because people expect to find them there, but we may start adding other sales such as pre-orders etc here if people want them.

I would love to have the option of ordering one of your knives. It's to hard to wait in line on a Friday while I'm here at work, hoping to score one! I would love a chopper, and a nice edc, or field knife for my hunts! Hopefully!!

Nathan, I would think that if you can handle the volume, it would make some sense to at least try out (as a test) by adding some form of alternative here in your subforum.

This makes sense. Especially if you can handle the volume.

Nathan said he would try to do 10 LCs for next week. The fact he said try, rather than I will do 10 leads me to believe 10 is pushing the limit of his production capacity at the moment.

Nothing wrong with that. We're here for the quality, not the quantity. I am sure no one wants to see a reduction of quality for an increase in quantity.

The problem with a list is what happens is a bunch of time and energy is spent on management of it, for no benefit to CPK. They just end up managing it. People need to be contacted, change their minds, do they prepay or not, deposit? Then refunds and waiting to hear back, just a lot of trouble. Then there is also nothing coming out onto the market to help build the brand with.

So I don't think either or is great. Maybe a combination of both works. A short list for people who can't play the post game, and the post game for people who can?

Sure the current sales model has it's drawbacks as well, but that is part of the deal right now. A lot of people are just jumping into the thread trying to get one without much preparation. There is a learning curve to it. I probably spent 2 hours researching previous posts, results of replies, frequency of models and options, as well as streamlining my strategy to win at the first past the post game. I spent time experimenting with refresh frequency and timing my computer to understand the posted time at BF and my PCs time. When to use a keyboard shortcut, when to use the mouse. Where to have things set up on my monitors, and how to occupy my toddler. Hell I even put my wireless mouse on a cord to make sure it didn't lag or cut out.

I shared my strategy with a friend here, and he also won on every try he has made. As people participate in threads they will improve their process, get their knife then withdraw and the next people will get one. Yes there will be some people who don't have time to be here, etc but you can't please all the people all the time. Perhaps a list is best suited for them. Sometimes a person will try for months and not get one, and someone will win relatively quick into the game. That is the nature of it.

The main occurrence I would get upset with is if someone is winning the post and buying them all up just to resell at a profit. I don't think that will be allowed.

I seem to recall that Nathan had communicated to me that the goal was to complete 28 Light Choppers by the end of this Summer. This was in addition to the 5 units which he had listed on the last sale prior to yesterday's. I just don't know if these 28 targeted units included the ones which he took to Blade Show, but I would guess not. However I think that the 5 from yesterday were included in the total. I don't know if he has increased those targeted numbers or not, but after the 10 units next week, there should still be 10+ at some later dates. Of course nowhere near enough to satisfy the current demand which will only be increasing as the word is expanding so rapidly.

I can only speak for my own experiences: part from the fact that the product is TOP NOTCH, the ease of communication, fast turnaround service and the friendliness of Nathan and Jo is on such a high level that one would only come to expect from some of the private caring sellers. They both deserve the sweet taste of success and our sincere gratitude.

First, the current system of sales clearly is the best/easiest for Nathan. One minute and it's all over. On the other hand, it just doesn't seem fair that the computer gamers are now almost the only people to get a crack at some very special and limited knives. I know it would be a pita to implement, but I suggest a lottery (in whole or in part) to even the playing field a little. And maybe only one knife of a kind per person per 6 months or whatever.

I very much look forward to seeing the new edc even though the field knife is what I most covet at the moment. And thanks for the new forum site!

Huh? Computer gamers? I know a few people who have won now and none of em are computer gamers that I know of.

What am I missing here? Is there some method to get a CPK with a XBox or PlayStation or something?

Secondly; I'm no socialist. I don't expect equality of outcome. Anyone with an account on BF has fair and equal opportunity to buy a CPK and that is fair enough for me.

Finally if you contact Fort Henry Knives you can get some of Nathan's work there if the forum or
gaming way is not for you!

Justin, I believe that Bob was directing those frustrated words at me. My Son and I used to play Super Mario Brothers when he was 5, but we haven't played video games for a little bit... Oh, did I mention already that he's 28 now?!
