CPK EDC2

OK. I see it. I was looking for something from Jo.

I'm pretty sure that it's Jo who updates all the shipping info added to those preorder threads. I have a feeling that the preorders will just accelerate because IIRC that's exactly how the old FK preorder went down and I was on the last page (back then I had proxied for 2 forum friends) and IIRC right after a plateau, they went BOOM through all the remaining preorders! But that's just a feeling I have ;)

You could be onto something...

Jo emailed me on 2-4-18 and asked my preference of sheath configuration.

I'm on page 4 of the pre-order so they may be readying a large installment to ship...maybe...I hope.

One thing is certain...it's gettin closer every day.

I'm the next post behind you in the pre-order and I haven't heard anything yet, so I've got a feeling the email from Jo is coming at any moment.

At the time of the pre-order I had guestimated an April delivery and it looks like CPK will beat that. :-)

Hoping to stop by the hardware store today, but don’t have the knife with me. Want to exchange the scales on my edc2.
Could someone please tell me the correct hex bit size?

I received my EDC2s today - thank you Nate, Jo and Team for running the pre-order on these!

I really love the improved scales. They feel slightly slimmer at the thickest point (mid-palm) and a what looks/feels like a small taper towards the back.

Thank you for the kind words, gents. The pictures really don't do the Antique Micarta justice; they look really awesome in the sunlight.

Once the weather gets nicer, I'll get out with the rest of the CPK family and get some more pics and feedback. :)

I received my EDC2s today - thank you Nate, Jo and Team for running the pre-order on these!

I really love the improved scales. They feel slightly slimmer at the thickest point (mid-palm) and a what looks/feels like a small taper towards the back.

Overall, the handle feels fantastic; it's amazing how you (CPK) can improve on something you didn't know could be better than it was. I still love the EDC scales, but these new ones feel just a little more positive and solid in all the right areas...for my hands, anyway.

As an aside, the Antique Micarta is simply awesome to admire. The depth of the colors and streaking is something that can't really be captured on camera. Each piece is very unique and really adds a little extra CPK signature to these knives.

The revised tip and belly profile are also a minor, but welcomed change. Being just a hair deeper in the belly should make slicing and skinning jobs that much easier. The more pronounced tip will make detail work more precise, though some may prefer the original sloped tip, depending on what they primarily use it for.

Either way, I love the revisions and improvements. This is another clear winner for CPK!

That is exactly my sentiment. I can sign my name under each word. From the moment I held it in the hand it felt perfect. It is perfect in every way!
The only knock I have is the kydex sheath that came with it fits too tight and it takes way too much effort to pull the knife out. My hope is that it will loosen a little bit with time.

I don't mind the Dozier sheaths, the retention is great and the design is discreet and non-obtrusive. I just wish they were easier to get on and off; I wear a very thick belt with an AustriAlpin Cobra buckle that isn't the easiest to feed through the belt loop on the Dozier sheaths.

Sadly, my EDC2 doesn't fit in my RLO sheath (for the EDC) so I may have to look into alternative sheath options.

@azwelke - Hey Al, have you started putting out sheaths for the EDC2 yet?
