Hi!

Does anybody know if the edges also is coated by the Titanium Aluminium Nitride Coating(hope not)? How hard is the coating at the Rockwell scale?

To the folks at Buck: Will the Buck special 119 also be available in S30V in the Cabelas Alaskan Guide series?

RE: Cabela's Alaskan Guide series - the blade is sharpened on both sides in the conventional way. The coating is only for looks and does it ever look good.

Watch your Sept. BCC newsletter for a special 110 to be offered with S30V, worm grooved honey jigged bone inlays and, as I recall, a nickel silver frame. NICE!! You will be able to order more than one, if you so desire.

That was a beautiful trio of knives! I also think its good to read that the blade is sharpened on both sides in the conventional way,without the coating touching the edge. Now i am realy interested in ordering a Vanguard with S30V. I realy hope that the Special 119 also will come with S30V steel.

nozh2002,it looks like you have the entire Buck production line in your collection!

Maybe you eaven have the Buck 119 in the Master series with BG-42 blade in your collection as well?

The 819ss is a fine knife,but i like the original design of the 119 more.

When i heard they were going to redesign the 119 and other fixed blade knives, i was worried that they would not look anything like the original.
I LOVE the way these turned out! Completely modern looking but at the same time keeping the classic lines of the 119 and ect. we have known for so many years! I may even have to buy a set of these!

I believe Bos has it set to 59.5 RC

Thats a good deal.I checked on Striders and they are showing 59-60.The 55-57 isnt getting it.

Strider also uses Bos, thus the same RC.
