Somebody give this guy a clue.
I talk him down to $80 shipped on an Emerson Mini commander and send him the money by PayPal on 8/26.
He sends me a tracking number that doesn't work:
"Jim, the knife will be out in todays mail...you should have it in a couple of days. Here's you Delivery Confirm number...0302 1790 0000 1196 8281."
When I tell him the tracking number doesn't work he says:
"I wouldn't worry about it...the same thing happened when I sent a knife to Glockman. That is the right number though. They will probably scan it once it gets to CO. I sent out yesterday so if you don't have it tomorrow you'll get it on Sat."
Saturday was a week ago. When I wrote him and asked him what his plan was he tells me he's going to go to the PO and find out what happened but that I should check with who ever handles the mail at my company (as if I were lieing to him). Keep in mind that I'm being nice and patient with him until...
He tells me that he thinks the package is lost and that he thinks we should "split" the cost of the knife. He wants to send me $40 and he's complaining that he's "already taken too big of a hit on a $120" knife.
Here's what I sent him:
"Nick,
I do not think that would be fair. I sent you all the money you agreed to sell the knife for and I've received nothing. It's not my fault you didn't insure the item. The seller always assumes responsibility for the knife arriving safely and if the seller wants to take the risk of not insuring the item than he is also risking refunding the buyer's money - all of it.
I'll wait until Friday for the knife, but if it doesn't arrive I'd like a full
refund.
Thanks. -Jim"
He writes and tells me that he thinks I'm trying to pull a fast one on him! I'M trying to pull a fast one? His tracking number doesn't work. Explain that.
I'm glad I paid by PayPal. I'll probably be able to get my money back through them and they'll probably close his account. If I don't get either the knife or satisfaction from Crazy Nicky by the end of Monday I'll begin the process.
