. I can't imagine what difference it would make, since he would have waited until it cleared anyway.

Then why did you make a big stink when I said I wanted a money order if it didn't matter???? I only deal with money orders and Pay Pal. Hey it's your loss! Hell I think I was being damn generous with asking for $90.

As I'VE been saying all along. My bank could track a personal check from my account. I know of no way to track a Money Order.

The difference for the Buyer is HUGE! the differnce for the Seller only matters if the Seller doesn't wait until it clears which I said you could do.

I think I've been clear about this from the very first post on theis thread.

Well John that's close, but it's not a deal.

Remember persistence can be a double edged sword (there's some blade content). You have to know when to let these things go. That includes in this thread, for example.

Nicky I have considered things from your perspective, honestly. If you had done as I suggested, you would have been in a strong position from the outset here, wouldn't you think? Part of being annoyed is allowing yourself to get that way. It's not going to be worth it, given you could just delete a few emails received after making your position clear, without even reading. If it was way over the top, you could even have put a post here, to deal with that.

I'll even let you have the last word.

If anyone has any more questions I'll answer them, but I'm not going to drag this out anymore or respond to nicky's comments.

Thank you,

-John

You could of sent the M.O. FedEx, UPS or Certified mail if you wanted to track it. Remember you started this and not me! I'm not out to beat anyone! What question would you answer for people? Like you have been victimized! I'm the one that was bashed on the forums because of you and I feel that YOU owe me an apology.

nicky, to whatever degree I caused any of this mess I sincerely apologize. I wasn't looking for any trouble and I wasn't trying to cause you or anyone any distress, nor was I trying to 'scam' you.

I think we're just gonna' have to agree to disagree on this one.

Thank you,

-John

PS-I also apologize for posting again, which I had said I wouldn't. I'm really done now.

I am not taking any sides, but here are my .02:

-I will not take a check, From anyone!! I wouldn't even take just any money order. When I am selling on the forums, I will accept PayPal or US Postal Money order ONLY. This is a personal preference. (My bank is a good ways from my home, I would prefer to cash the money order at the Post Office)

-If I do not know the person I am dealing with, they have a low post count and no feedback in GB&U, I would most likely ask that they ship first. If they didn't want to, No Problem, No DEAL!(I have been ripped off one too many times, Never on this forum though)

-If I was engaged in talks to sell a knife to someone and I didn't like how things were going, felt annoyed, or was starting to get upset about the deal. Forget it, I will call it all off. Even if a price was agreed upon and we were working out logistics.

To me, I am under no obligation until I have sent an e-mail to the prospective buyer, seller or trader with my address and the words "You got a deal", "Done Deal", "Deal" or something along those lines.

Collecting knives is a hobby to me. To read about, buy, sell, or handle fine cutlery is enjoyable and relaxing to me. I will not let someone change that over a deal or e-mail.

Sorry nicky, but I will post any time I want and certainly not when you say it is ok to do so. You are the one that made the unsubstantiated accusations against another member of these forums. If you have a problem with me calling you on that, too bad.

Why yes sir, whatever you say. I'll get right on that.

Nicky, when reading posts about the events that transpired, I see nothing you did wrong. But insulting a respected forum member for contributing to this thread is wrong. Keith was just expressing his viewpoint. I think you should appologize and this thread should just be left to drift off in archive land. No one here is out any money and the only incoviences that have been caused are really just time and the e-mails. Lets end this now, before someone actually deserves a Negative thread in this forum :)

Listen to yourself buddy, he was expected to send $100 to you without any guarantee of receiving the knife. Selling and trading on these forums is a big game of trust, and can be risky.

Whatever happened within the emails was not really the issue for me, my issue is the way you (nicky) say things like "I don't care what you think" or "I'm the seller,it's my way" or "Do you really think I care"? All these types of negetive frases are what seperate the trusted from the not trusted.John might have been a pain in the butt and you may have not liked him.If someone acts flacky to me during a deal I back out like you did,but you cant come to the forums with the "SCREW YOU" attitude and think your going to gain support. It reminded me of mr.Spyder Punk. I'm sure you were both rude to eachother but that doesn't mean you should be rude to the rest of the world.Look's like you were both wrong but you have to be mature about the way you make a mens!!! ;)

How about if I start. Let me apologize for my rather childish behavior in this thread.

Crazy nicky has every right to not want to deal with aomeone for whatever reasons he sees fit. If he doesn't like or trust someone, whether for good reason or not, that is good enough reason not to do the deal. It was his unneeded aggressive attitude that set me off.

blastjv;

Use a Postal money order when dealing over the forums, or with people who may be questionable. There is a way to trace those M.O.'s, and if the seller of the item cashes it without sending you the merchandise, it is mail fraud, and the postal service will take swift action against the perpetrator.

Nicky;

You offered to do a trade recently with me, and I accepted, even sending you my address, and waiting for you to send me yours. You didn't, and after two days of waiting, I made another deal. If you decided thet you didn't want to do the deal, you should have emailed me back, and said so, and not kept me waiting for two days. You lost out on a great deal.
I'm only mentioning this because of what has transpired in this thread, and I in no way harbor any ill will against you, nicky. However, I will proceed with caution in the future if and when you make me an offer.

Nicky, I also want to know what 'rule' John was trying to get you to violate? If it was the rule concerning basic members selling, you didn't break any rules, nor would you have, by dealing in email. If it concerns you that bad, purchase a Gold membership, and actually list your stuff for sale, and avoid the Ebay B.S.

well crazy, ya say "i dont trust people i dont know" well why should i (the buyer) trust the seller if i "dont know him" and send him money, etc?????? on the net either party can be ripped off, and the sim. shipping is a way of building "trust".

i myself will not do a deal anymore w/out the sim shipping, and have backed out of a deal or 3 over it. i simply will not do it anymore.

good luck to ya both

greg
