CRK Annual Limited Editions

Thanks for you comments, box elder is a very common trash tree that grows in Iowa in the road ditches and prairies. It is a soft wood that grows very fast. The box elder that I have cut down has more of a white color with some reds at the base of the trunk. I wonder where Chris Reeve gets his box elder and if the wood is stained. The box elder used by Chris Reeve is special and top quality.

Theyre dropping the annual wood inlays to work on the 25th anniversary sebenza. It'l be shown at blade. While this new sebenza is exciting to hear about, I was hoping my first annual would be a 2012 :/

Yes, just got the saddening email because I had sent an email earlier to pre-order an annual and I was on the list, until today I guess....sniff.

Well, those that have an annual, hang onto them because they are going to go up like the One Piece Knives are. Many annuals on ebay are bringing over 1K....eek. Probably a CRK I will never have....lol.

Here is the sad email:

I write with what some will feel is bad news. As of this year, (2012) we will no longer offer the Annual Wood Inlay Sebenza. Although we have many on order, we will not be able to fill these and I am sorry if this causes any inconvenience.
The good news is, without the added effort of producing the standard profile, we have been able to introduce a brand new Sebenza to our lineup – The 25th Anniversary Sebenza. This knife will debut at 2012 Blade Show and information about it will be published soon.
Thanks to all our loyal customers who have collected and admired the annual Wood Inlay Sebenza for so many years. Those who own one will now have a true piece of the history of Chris Reeve Knives.

I had spoken to Mr. Reeve awhile back and he mentioned he was working on a 25th Anniversary Sebenza design, so I am VERY anxious as to what it will look like.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I received the same email. I just started. Ollected the annuals. First, it's the limited available Damascus, now, it the annuals. COME ON!!!!! I sure hope the 25th is something special Nd not something gimmicky. But, knowing CRk's, it should be a pleasant surprise.
Alsom will the annual ONLY not be offered for 2012? That's the way it reads.

I really wish I would've gotten in to CRK's earlier. I don't see myself owning an Annual now and that plain old sucks:grumpy:

However, I see a Sebenza 25 in my future:D:thumbup:

i was really hoping for one more hoo-rah of a special damascus and special wood for 2012. At least give us final farewell annual, rather than a, ah, we stopped. :'(

Just found, and ordered a large 2011. Only one I could find, but there could be more out there.

If anyone wants one, they better try to find it today.

It will be my first annual.
