CRK Sub-Forum Idea. . .

This idea got some traction early last year, but alas, it never came to fruition. . . Perhaps we can revisit the idea?

Please read the OP and comment with support or dissent. If we have enough supporters then maybe Spark would consider it. . .
 
Just a thought, but I think that Spark would consider it if it were requested by CRK..From past experience, CRK moderators don't get in here that much as they simply do not have the time as they are pretty dedicated to their jobs.

I would certainly love to see this happen..I might even volunteer if someone needed a mod to make it happen ;)
 
I have always been in for this idea. Myself and a friend of mine on Facebook took it upon ourselves to start a Chris Reeve Knives - BST Group page since it seemed unlikely one would open up here. With the trend of selling on FB, its been pretty good. Several sales have already taken place and have almost 200 members already. This forum is still my favorite place to go, but its nice to have options when looking for that special CRK. Anyone one here is more than welcome to join.
 
Hunting one down is part of the game.
Probably it would also reduce the number of potential buyers.
I wonder how a special sub-forum would influence the developement of this user-group.

Not sure why this hasnt been done yet? This thread has had 16k views...pretty convincing if you ask me.
I have noticed a good bit other social media outlets now getting into the selling game(facebook)which Nyefmaker started CRK pg and Instagram, where i KNOW a bunch of deals go down.
Cant remember how much my Gold Membership costs here? Hmm..
 
I like the idea of a FB group in theory,..but what is lost is that not everyone has a Facebook account..Myself included.
At least if it was in this subforum,..everyone that is on BF and is a paying member could take part.
 
The main issue with forums on Facebook is when you post something it can spam your non-knife-guy friends relentlessly depending on the type of forum it is. Hopefully it doesn't end up going that way, but it may be inevitable based on what I'm reading here.
 
Back when I proposed this idea in 2013 (wow, time flies) I had dialogue directly with CRK who are the official Mods of this forum and they were on board with the idea. They also communicated directly with Spark who seemed like he was interested, but said he needed to evaluate whether the traffic flow was enough to justify a CRK Sales Sub-Forum. I had PM'd the link to this thread to Spark awhile back, but didn't get any further feedback.

Rather than inundate Spark with emails/PM's from several of us, please allow me to PM him and see if we can get some further momentum on this.

I will keep the thread updated with any further info. . .
