Crooked Creek Pass Around Sign up

Nice!

The primary purpose I had in mind when designing this was that of a butcher knife.

Looks like it did a fine job for you, mqqn.

Looks great. Great first test I'd say.

Yes - it came through with flying colors.

Unfortunately, my photographer, who shall remain unnamed, was not able to get one single picture in focus it seems.

Oh well - I'll get some more pictures of it, but I can say it is the most comfortable knife to use that is in my kitchen today, and I have everything from antique paring knives up to Shun cutlery, and this one takes the honor.

I also love the very thin grind, makes slicing a breeze.

A quick picture, the Crooked Creek had a little fun on Superbowl Sunday.

Looks good , andy.

Seeing this one at the gathering made me even more anxious to try it out!

I am absolutely in love with this design and your pics aren't helping at all Andy. For some reason I keep checking my credit card balance to find some extra funds.

Did that K logo just wink at you, Mack??

You are still on the list to check it out if/when you have time.

Okee Dokee Gentlemen!

I have put the Crooked Creek through it's paces this past two weeks - Thank you Coop for letting me keep the knife for an additional week so I could do some more testing.

I was able to really put the knife through it's paces in the kitchen, and I also did some outdoor stuff with it, more to show just how rugged John's K-Treet 01 steel is, even on a knife with a very thin profile.

Following is the final picture from me in this post, and I'll be working on the review thread to post around the knife forums this evening. I liked how this shot looks.

Peter, if you are still on Harris Ferry Road, I can ship the knife out to you tomorrow, otherwise please email me your address when you get a free minute from your workshop!

Andy, I'm glad you had some time with it. Thanks for keeping this passaround going, I have enjoyed your photos and opinions on this.

Good luck.

Now that's just plain mean.:)

Now that I'm home most weekends I'll be able to join in. I can't wait.

Glad to read that.

I will be interested to read your thoughts on it.

I'm still here, Andy, look forward to getting it :)

thanks for the review and pictures as always

Review thread posted here -

It's going on other forums as well - Cooper will have to go read it and see how that thin blade held up to chopping limbs!!!:eek::eek::eek::D

Thanks again !

Limbs? Looked like twigs to me. You shoulda whacked it through the trunk.:p

Fantastic review. Setting the bar high.

Just a reminder to the rest of youse, after the passaround is done, I will start a poll with links to the posted reviews, and whoever gets the most votes wins this knife.

Haha!

I am sure the knife would hold up, it is my arm I was protecting!

I did notice that, since the blade is very thin, and the handle is large enough that you can take mighty swings, and the thin blade bites deeply into the wood.

Pine is of course pretty soft wood, but I did chop through some larger branches than pictured.

It was wet outside and the Hawks game was on, so I wanted to take care of it during a Zamboni break ;^)

I am showing that the Crooked Creek has arrived at it's location in Kentucky!

Must have had some trouble with the snowstorms to take so long in transit, and then I show that the mail carrier could not find a "secure location" to leave the package.....

It is secure now!!

Has it? Didn't even check the mail today, it hasn't ran all week and it looks no better today then yesterday. Time to put on my jacket and see!

I'm new to the world of JK knives, but I'd love to try it out. I'd be glad to write a review, too. Looks like a wonderful pattern.
