I went ahead and took some "hello" pictures. Now I'll have to really think about some things to do with this beauty
Next to a JK Hiker
Really like this blade shape
I know it's not right to say but the handle shape kind made me pass on the crooked creek, just sorta seemed *meh* which says nothign of it's utility of course, just personal astectic preferences. But then, did I mention the utility...wow
I just spent a happy 20minute splaying with this knife, finding the balance point (right at the front pin), shredding a piece of a4 (or 3) down to tiny pieces, and I think I fell for it
yep, the crooked creek just won my heart, really glad I joined the passaround or I may have passe don this thing forever
Now I need two, one to handle in some nice wood scales, one as a stick tang because this blade shape really is wonderful
I'm not joking I just went from 0 to 60 on this thing before even put it to any real use. The balance is fantastic (need a better word to describe it actually) the weight perfect, and the 3/32, okay not a chopper, but man does it slice. and it's John's 01...say what's the limit on the passaround can I try and cut a branch down with it?
Great now how am I going to afford two crooked creeks...maybe this one will get "lost."
We needed to see one of these in a nice burled wood, to catch the eye of fools like me who may have overlooked it. Anyway I'm getting distracted. Aside from the knife itself the handle is grippy and comfortable in all grips I've tried. I predict it will stay that way even in heavy use but we'll see. The edge is silky smooth on paper at least and the patina is developing nicely . Pretty son of a gun all around.
Last picture, Andy's generously sent some treats for my kids, thanks boss!
Damn it Mr. Cooper, look what you've done to me!
