After a long period of anticipation, I got my Rubicon in today, and boy is it worth the wait. This is the finest Spyderco I've handled. The F&F is outstanding. The materials are outstanding. I like the orange G10 better than I thought I would. The CF is ridiculous and the Ti liners have an acid/stonewash finish. All of the grinds are perfect. The detent is perfect for an easy push button or light switch flip, and the spyderhole also works great as a secondary method of opening. Centering and lockup are perfect. A tiny bit of lock stick the first two or three disengagements, but is already smooth now.

To anyone on the fence, I'd say go for it. It is near-custom quality, and I don't say that lightly. Here are some quick pics. I'd like to take some better ones later.

Looks way better in these photos than ones I've seen. Let's see those liners! Thanks for sharing

Yeah, sorry I forgot to get the liners. That was probably the biggest unknown for me and I am so pleased with how they are finished.

Did you notice the black part of the pivot is engraved?

sal

You know, I wasn't quite sure how that was achieved. The pivot is beautiful. Great design from Peter and perfect execution from everyone on your team. I'm so glad to see these ultra high quality custom collaborations.

The CF on the Rubicon is probably the best I've ever seen. Gorgeous! A lot of time and money went into achieving that. Flipper action is great. Lockup at 60% and solid. Blade is centered, sharp and ground well. I like the orange accents better in person. I'll carry it later today.

I agree on that CF, unreal. Mine is at 60% too.

Man, this is the first knife in quite a while that's really got me pining. Can't wait until I can scrape the funds together for one. Probably going to be quite a while though.

I've been on the fence about the Rubicon, not because I thought it would be less than perfect, simply that there are a lot of good knives out there right now. I'm being pushed rather forcefully towards acquiring one it seems....

Pics look awesome. I don't have a sage. I had one but it reminded too much of the manix and I love the manix so I got rid of it.

Resistance is futile! :)

I have been waiting for this one and it looks like a home run. Sweet!
