Crossing the Rubicon

Wow, I'll echo that those pics look way better than any stock photos. The comparison pic with the sage makes it look tiny. Is it smaller than it looks? I'd be interested in more comparisons to common blades.

My wallet respectfully requests that all posting pics of the Rubicon cease immediately. It can't take any more :)

That knife made me feel horrible for being left handed.

I agree. Even if the clip was reversible, it would still be a right handed knife. I don't purchase liner or frame locks designed for right handed people. Years ago I accidently disengaged a liner lock by increasing my grip. Kept all my fingers, didn't even get cut... Still it was a wake up moment for me.
I've always wanted a GB.... But alas..... It was not meant to be.
I love my manix's! And sage 3... and my endura.... and my delica!

Here's a comparison picture of various Spyderco folders all with various types of Carbon Fiber scales.

From top to bottom:

  • Caly3

  • Native5 = 0.430"
  • Caly3 = 0.350"

Indeed it is! I broke today. Thanks for the heads up on a source my friend!

Nice. Congrats.

A couple of small issues. The first few times the titanium liner sticks just a little but goes away fairly quickly. Disengaging the titanium liner is a bit tricky and hard. However, it smooths out after about a hundred closings. You can also try various placements of your thumb during that process.

Well I broke down and ordered one. Should be here this Saturday. Can't wait to actually hold it and see what all the fuss is about.
