Crude and I don’t care

This needs shut down before it grows. If it is indeed crude, by your own admission you said the knife is not hard in several places, so while it may be functional in a desperate situation, at best it was a learning experiment. Shut down for name calling, not for effort to try something new.

I have no idea what that means or what you are talking about.

What I do know is that you said your knife is "crude" by your own admission. Crude is an understatement, IMO.

You also said you "don't care", although your repeated responses to criticism indicates you do.
You have no constructive criticism, everyone else has though that’s the point.

Again by your own admission, it is crude. I am simply agreeing with you. No further criticism (constructive or otherwise) is required.

Did you really expect to get glowing reviews for that thing? As others said, it looks like a prison shank. Although I guess you did get to put your maker's mark to use.

If you can't handle the fallout... :)

Funny you should mention that. This looks like something right out of a Fallout game to me. Crude indeed, but I sorta dig it.

So to be constructive, learn what aspects of the knife’s handle is impractical, what would make a better grip, and try again, and decide what material could improve friction, maybe athletic tape like you would use on a tennis racket handle or bike handle bars. This was suggested to me by a smart guy and it helped put some girth on my thin metal knife. More importantly, how was the heat treatment done? Or was the steel obtained from a reputable dealer? Also, would some of the cutouts cause stress points where the material could break?

I actually like the dipped handle, and to be honest I like the overall shape. The design is subjective, the only part that I would criticize is that if it didn’t get hard everywhere it needed to be hard, then personally I would focus on fixing that. If functionally it works for what you designed it for, then it can be as crude as you want.

Post it on instagram and you’ll probably make a million dollars, at least I’d assume since some makers are selling sharpened metal straws and welded together nuts as knuckles.

That’s not my problem. The steel this time around was just junk. That last stick of 80crv2 all my knives are harder than files. This last order was just crap. But the handle is hard and to me that’s more important on this one.

It’s not that garbage plasti dip, it’s flex seal spray with play sand mixed in.

It's an interesting piece, and looks like it would function as intended.

No shame in sharing your work, and the fact that you are trying to produce a knife from scratch is more than I can say I've done.

Search my posts because they’re there

OK, I saw the first knife with the HUGE ricasso, the same knife re-designed with a more reasonable ricasso, the railroad spike, and the "mako". So where are all these "plenty of knives that are just fine"??
