I know we’re not supposed to discuss buying much, but keeping it relevant to the topic of the thread it definitely takes patience and persistence since these arent being produced any more and since the company wasnt around for a super long time to put out a huge amount of knives to pick from. It’s taken me a few years to put together my small collection. Definitely harder to come across than knives of a similar age from other American makers like Queen, Case, or even GEC. But to me that’s part of the fun… keeping a lookout for good ones or hunting a particular model. I feel it’s worth the hunt if you like the design language and lineage/history. They’re for sure distinct from other American knives and the influence from Schrade is very apparent.Where do you find these?! I've been striking out left and right.
Paging all CSC fans (and alsoea42 Mr. Albers if I can get him to chime in).
I have recently tracked down one of my long time dream knives, the BF Serpentine pattern. Fantastic handle material, great design, maybe the last things made under the CSC name… and yet… I’m a bit unhappy with the wonky shield. I’ve had this a month or so, contemplating what to do.

See how the left side has almost a chunk missing? I’m wondering if there’s a way to fix this or if I should just learn to live with it???
I don't have any, but they definitely made fixed blades. As to the steel, they used a variety of steels in their folders and the only way to tell what it is, is if you have the slip of paper that came with it. Otherwise, if it patinas, its probably 1095, and if it doesn't, it isn't. I don't know if they did fixed blades the same way.I'm certain Canal St. made fixed blades too and used D2? I gave one away here when I first came to this place, at least I believe it to be the case![]()
That little ring-opener sure is a jewel!!!My treasured few!
