KVaughn and I braved the rain and made it out to his friend's property along the Housatonic River today. As we scouted the property we wound up walking through a nest of deer ticks. Our clothing literaly crawled with those disease spreading blood suckers

My dog had almost a hundred all over him. A one hour bath hopefully rid him of all of them. That was not fun..
Anyway..
It looks like it will be a great spot to have the gathering. We have a water source, plenty of down trees for firewood. Many plants starting to come up if we want to have a plant walk. The river holds an abundance of Small Mouth Bass and some trout. Feel free to bring yoir Kayaks and canoes if you want to float the river. I spotted a bunch of cool things we can do to practice firecraft as well as other bushcraft tasks.
Lets start to get a head count. We are considering the first or second weekend of June.
We will be able to have our vehicles in walking distance to where we will be setting up camp. If you have allot of gear KVaugn has a small pick up that can access the site to shuttle gear if you can't carry it.
Friendly dogs will be permitted, but they must get along with other dogs.
So sound off if you can make it and also shoot me an email so I can keep an accurate head count. My email is

If you have any questions ask it here or email me.
Remember, this is Kvaughn's friend's private property. We would like to be able to use it again so lets be respectful of that.
Here's the spot
