CT Winter Gathering

I might have a small track of land in MA that we could stay in. a couple hundred square acres..smattered in the center of the state. I know every inch..and the plant life here is second to none..we have steep hills and low lying wetlands..right next to each other. Birch, Pine and Oak. A couple small valleys, and some cool wild animals. I have to work on this..but If I get permission..I could get parking for quite a few cars..on private property. Basically..a covert campout..but I have been camping here for years with no problems.
Not as nice as the Park in the last campout I went to...but I know the layout...and practicing "bushcraft" wont be an issue..in other words..we could go all out and build shelters and the like. Gene

gene, that sounds awesome. i'm thinking if that ends up happening then carpooling from CT would be a good idea, with at least three guys to a car. that would greatly cut gas prices etc...

of course, that would mean that you would have to pack a little less...;)

otherwise, Kevin and I were chatting and we think that going into the woods off of one of the blue trails might be the best option. as long as we did the "no trace" thing noone would ever know we were there...

PM sent Tony. I am gonna try my best..but beggers have little leverage!:D I will let you guys know if its ok...I will find out tomorrow..and then we can get into details..once its confirmed.

I am good with what ever you guys choose, I can pick up people along the way if we do the Mass the thing.

Gene,

Thats sounds pretty cool. If it doesn't work out, Simon's suggestion may work well. I have hiked along many blue trails and have not seen a single person.

I agree..I am cool with whatever anyone wants to do. I am only suggesting MA as a help. It seems that the Conn. guys outnumber the MA guys easily!!! so if CT is the way to go...so be it. I will ask, and beg...and if we get permission..then..we can all agree to do it or not.

What's a blue trail?

The major trail systems in Connecticut are designated by different colors. The blue trails I believe are refered to as Metacomet trails. Here is map of trails in Connecticut

I can see how this will turn out.

Hi I am GUNKNIFENUT, me and about 15 of my friends would love to use your property to practice survival skills and camp out. We are a safe group who truley values our right to carry firearms and and play with many sharp items. Their will be some drinking, but we promise to be responsible:o

Pleeeaaaaaaase!

:D

I'm in the middle of acquiring a land lease for the next year in NYS... If the contract allows me to bring others it might be of use..Wont know for a few days yet though

I can't go, being in CA and all- BUT, I've been meaning to start a passaround, if someone wants to do whatever is needed to run it. If the date isn't too close, I should be able to vicariously attend with a leuku pattern bushcrafter (I imagine Tony's knives will attend, as well) The blade is already heat treated, just hasn't been handled and given pants due to workload.

If yall think it would be a good starting point.

Yeah, I will definately be bringing my Koyote combo, thats if I get it back from big Mike. He seams to have taken a liking to them :)

Let me know, I have the time to run the passaround if you like:thumbup:

Just wanted to remind everyone to keep the 10-11th of January open as that is our potential weekend to meet up! As I am back in CT, I am going to start checking out some areas.
