Cts-20cp

My better half's CF Para came like that. I think the locking slab had too much tension in it. The blade took too much effort to open past the ball detent as well as being hard on the fingers to unlock. I sent it in for repairs. It came back great & I see what all the raving is about. She loves it too & EDCs it. It has an easy life opening mail & provoking envy in my knife nerd buddies.

I have 4 Para 2's and 2 of them came with locks that were a little sticky, one of them was "make your fingers sore trying to unlock it" sticky. I have found that if I grind up a little jeweler's rouge into a powder and pour it into the notch in the blade where the compression lock fits and work the lock a few to polish out both the lock tab and the slot in the blade, it helped immensely. Now they do not stick anymore, not even a little. After cleaning the Rouge back out of it, I put a little silicon in the blade slot and now they are perfect. You have to work the lock and the tab though to get it to grind a little while the rouge is in there.

I am just not patient enough to send it to Spyderco.

Unfortunately I am sending my carpenter para 2 to Colorado on my next day off. It takes an unbelievable amount of force to overcome the detent when opening the knife and disengaging the lock really does a number on my finger. I have spent a week opening/closing the knife hundreds of times a day in an attempt to break the knife in but no luck. I have also spent hours playing with the pivot and stop pin screws but cant adjust out all of the blade play. I guess I will have to go back to my S30V para2s while she is away. I know it will get fixed but I hate to send it away. I have been getting spoiled by the aggressive edge and awesome edge retention of CTS-20CP! 20CP is some bad a** steel. I hope to see more of this steel from Spyderco in the near future.

Talley , besides the detent problem everything else I would say diitto. Next dayy off ,thumb killing me,tried adjusting,20cprocks and I hope turnaround time is better then before .

Don't bet on it, everyone is preparing last minute details for Blade. Any knife company will be the same.

Yeah hopefully I can get it back quick! If not I have a black and a camo S30V para2 to fall back on. It might give me a chance to give my new grey Endura 4 some pocket time. Since I got my first para2 it seems like all my other usual EDC knives have been pretty neglected.

I have been pocketing my new xm 18xhp. Today im giving my 0551 some poocket love. Its been awhile since I've carried it,I just don't like the way elmax cuts(hard to explain).Anyways, last night I said screw it and took down my cts para,I figured the lock isn't that complicated how much could I mess it up . To my suprise there was no notches or pretruding steel. I flitzed everything lubed up the lock and put it back together.the lock still sticks before hitting to the left but I think its managable now ,as long as I don't flick it open too fast. I just couldn't wait as long as I have for my spyderhawk(been over a month and a half since it left my house and its still not back)
