I just got finished watching Outland (1981, Sean Connery). This got me thinking about sci-fi from the '80s, then cult classics from the '80s, then cult classics in general. I used to go to the midnight movies when I lived in Colorado and got to see a ton of them. My favorite cult classic is The Warriors (1979). What are your favorites and what other movies do you recommend?

Remo Williams - The Adventure Begins :D Of course.

Tremors is another Fred Ward Cult Classic if you're a gun nut.

Early Sam Raimi movies: Evil dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness.

Early Peter Jackson films such as Dead Alive (braindead) Meet the Feebles, Bad Taste.

Terry Gilliam Movies like Time Bandits, The Adventures of Baron Von Munchausen, Brazil, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. . .

The original Highlander if it is still considered a cult movie, the Evil Dead has a cult-like following, I really like Convoy also

George A. Romero

(1) Night of the Living Dead
(2) Dawn of the Dead
(3) Day of the Dead

John Carpenter's stuff. (pretty much all of them for me ;) )

I thought that Knightriders had the makings of a cult classic, but it was not meant to be.

Mickey Rourke in Angel Heart also in Bar Fly. This was when he was crazy, now he is a loon with a bad face lift.

"Bar Fly" is a great film. Yes, a film, not a movie. Get you some Charles Bukowski to read, if you want the full story.

Any Pre Hairspray John Waters film
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls
Chained Heat
Emmanuelle
Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill
Ghosts of Mars
John Carpenter's the Thing
Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS
Mandingo
Pink Flamingos
Robocop
The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yak
Weird Science

Just a few off the top.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
