Cult classic movies.

Lost Highway

Oh yeah... Robert Blake was suitably creepy in this one!

Rock 'n' Rule - an animated movie similar to Heavy Metal but had a possibly cooler soundtrack including Debbie Harry, Lou Reed, and Iggy Pop - all stuff original to the movie

Oh yeah... and they almost got sued for basing their villain on Mick Jagger! :D:thumbup:

Does Once Upon a Time in the West count as a cult film? It doesn't have the following of Leone's more well-known films, but I'll be damned if it ain't a fine western!

Can't believe I forgot about this one - "Surf Nazis Must Die"

A couple I just remembered.
Six String Samurai
Zardoz - Linked because no one would believe me if I described it.

Also, Surf Nazis Must Die and some of the Toxic Avenger movies are available on Netflix instant play.

Zardoz ...saw it about 1976 when I was majoring in film study at University and it has stayed the passage of time. ;) For a bit of trivia any folk who have watched the motorcycle documentary "Long Way Round" would have seen director John Boorman on screen wishing his son Charlie good fortune as he and Ewan McGreggor set of on their round the world motorcyle adventure.

Deliverance also by director Boorman combined bows, arrows, banjo music and backwoods 'good old boys backside fun'

Don Seigel's Dirty Harry gave Clint Eastwood his most famous line and put the S&W.44magnum on my must get list (although in a Ruger Redhawk and Super BlackHawk rather than a S&W Model 29).

Chinatown showed how unpleasant a flick blade stuck up in the nose could be...

How about some old ones.
Soylent green
Swamp Thing
and one to watch with someone you want to get lucky with
Somewhere in Time

Might have missed it but I did not see any recommendations for Kubricks "A Clockwork Orange" I highly recommend it. Gives you a good idea as to where this country is currently headed.

Lots of good ones brought up in this thread.

How about these two?

Videodrome

The Day Of The Triffids

I see RHPS has already been acknowledged.

:D

How about:

Red Dawn
Ronin
Heat
Highlander
Enter the Dragon
All the Indiana Jones flicks

"Once Upon a Time in the West" is a fine flick, but I think an even bigger cult film is Leone's last, "Once Upon a Time in America." It features a good cast, including Robert DeNiro, James Woods, Jennifer Connelley, Burt Young, Joe Pesci, Danny Aiello, William Forsythe, and Tuesday Weld. If you can stand the 4+ hours, it is a masterpiece.

....also.....
"I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!"
"Roadwarrior"
"Young Frankenstein"
"True Romance"
"Heat"

How 'bout "I Love You to Death" and "Kalifornia"?

Mick almost sued 'em? wow. talk about petty, and unsupportable. I always thought that Mok looked like Mick, Steven Tyler, Iggy Pop, or even David Bowie, depending on the scene. I think my high school friends and I were the only non-Canadians that saw that movie. I noticed that you can get it on DVD now, but unfortunately no soundtrack. For those who haven't seen it - it's sort of like Philip K. Dick and George Orwell's Animal Farm had an animated baby.

Jeebus! 4+ hours?!

I heard OUATITW was part of a trilogy of sorts... haven't seen the other two yet.

Yeah, the special edition DVD is pretty sweet. It's got a remastered theatrical version and the Canadian broadcast version I first saw on CBC as a wee lad.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Vanishing Point.

I also vote for:
Repo Man
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Waterhole #3
Rancho Deluxe
