Cult of the peanut , members

Well, I have been hemming and hawing about it enough. I am sending Narsil, the peanut of Carl, to Case for some RnR. When I get it back I will receive Anduril. I've sent Sebenzas, I've sent my SNG, I've sent my Tribal Spear in, all for warranty work or repairs. I've never had a lump in m throat like I have for this one. I was an idiot, and let my knife go through the washer, along with my Maratac AAA. Stupidity knows no bounds, but I've printed off the repair ticket, and stressed that they should leave the edge alone.

I feel like I have to hand over the honor of the High Muckba to a stand in while my sword has gone back to the elven smiths over the mountain.

Wow, I can't imagine how family or friends would feel if they read this. I feel like I'm sending this little knife on a journey. This must be how Gandalf felt, putting all of the weight in the world on a small hobbit.

Except peanuts are more like Jack Russells than hobbits.

I need some coffee...

Needless to say it's been insured with Lloyd's of London???

So sorry to hear of this - a tragedy indeed! That knife is practically a National Treasure. Hope it comes back to your satisfaction.

Harvest Moon
Three patterns in four unique shades make up the color palette of fall skies, with genuine bone handles in Autumn, Hunter Green, Mediterranean Blue and Honey Brown. High polished bolsters and the Case Diamond Script Shield in shining nickel silver provide perfect contrasts.

In other words - we are going to roll out four jigged bone colors we have already used many times, and just stick a new name on them to get you to buy another one. ;)

Yep. Now if they were gonna do them all in cv, then id be excited. Then wed at least have some more options except brown bone, red bone, and yeller

I could probably get my yeller nut in the mail in the next day or two if youre in sore need of a loaner. We cant have the grand high muckba absent.

Thank you but I can't accept. I am going to make sure a peanut is in my pocket before I send Narsil to Case. I am either going to a local farm store or a somewhat local knife store for a temporary blade while the Precious is reforged in Mount Doom, er, Bradford...

I wonder if Tolkien would've carried a peanut...

Sorry to hear that. I have mine for less than three months now, but I can't imagine leaving the house without it, it would feel like being without pants, no can do. Losing "old trusty" would be terrible and I can only imagine how it must feel sending it away. It will be great when it comes back though, you have to look at it this way! :)

Well, I ordered a blue Harvest Moon today and it should arrive on Friday - I will then be an official member of the peanut gallery.
I'm curious to see if the blue color of the "Harvest Moon" series is any different than any of the other "regular" blue colors.

This Buck Stockman has been through the washer&dryer twice. It came out clean as a Hounds tooth both times and just needed a couple drops of oil.How did your Maratac AAA come through? Lucky I haven't washed mine (yet).

Had this little red guy with me all this week, along with a Camillus Dura Tool for paint can duty while assisting a friend at his newly acquired fixer-upper house. The little peanut cut right through all the banding & plastic wrap on a pallet of flooring on the back of my truck with ease. Swish.

I recently purchased a chestnut sodbuster jr and carried it for a week and I really like this knife. But, I kept on reading the posts here and kept reading about the peanut, so of course I had to get one. I picked this one up in chestnut too (both cv). I have carried the peanut every day since. It is just so easy to pocket it's hard not to. I am trying to find a way to carry the sbj too, but for now I am very satisfied!

Langler, that is a beautiful Peanut. Very smooth color. Mine does not even come close to that. I think you'll find a peanut will almost completely take over most cutting duties and make a fine "worry stone" as well.

Worry stone, and it makes other knives "leave" the pocket. Just like a Jack Russell, I have heard from friends and family of their Jack Russell literally beating other dogs into submission. Dobermans, pits, rotts, shepherds, labs etc. Big dogs. Jack Russells do not care. Just like the peanut, it takes a licking and keeps on ticking...

Some of the craziest dogs I've ever seen were Jacks. Crazy as in literally running up walls, insane energy. I don't think I could ever keep up with one myself.

Here's my chestnut bone Jack Russell (uh, peanut, I mean) when it was shinier than it is now:
