It looks like Old Timer's version of the Peanut to me. What's the overall length? It if it's 3" or less I believe it's good to go. Dan will bless your application when he comes around later :)

Congrats on find that old classic!

It's 2 7/8" OA, and the model is 120T. I'll anxiously await the verdict. Thanks for your reply, sir.

Terrible picture, but here is the last peanut I have left after giving one away and trading a few others. I think I might hang onto this one......

(It's a 50's Imperial, I hope that still counts as a peanut)

I was one of those that questioned the Peanut. It's just too small. How much can that little blade cut? Can I even fit 2 fingers on it?!?!?!

Well, I won Maverick299's GAW and one of the knives that I received was a Peanut. I've only played with it one day, but this little thing is awesome. So much so, that I'm contemplating ordering two more. Here's my entry into the Cult of the Peanut...

True to my word…I picked up two additional Peanuts and a Pemberton.

I do like that Pemberton. How's it feel in hand compared to a peanut?

The Pemberton seems to be a little heavier and coupled with the Coke Bottle frame that it sports, offers a better grip than the Serpentine Peanut. With the Peanut, my thumb keeps wanting to slide towards the spine of the blade. However, these Peanuts have such good fit-and-finish that it feels weird to pay twice as much for the Pemberton.

* Pemberton has a slightly wider, but shorter blade...
* Pemberton is narrower than the Peanut when looking down the spine, BUT is wider when both are on their sides
* Pemberton is a tad shorter

After trying quite a while ago to gain admittance to the Cult of the Peanut without a picture (my tech-fu was very low at the time), I will now try humbly again with a picture. Perhaps two peanuts and an old Schrade will be enough?

Thanks for the consideration…sorry the photos were so long in coming!

That's a nice little family collection. Two peanuts and a cousin from 'that other side of town." But still a cousin all the same. I'm going to nominate you advance to the second from the outmost inner circle. :thumb up:

Thanks guys! Sorry for the old Schrade…I've had him for 25 years. He doesn't get out of the knife drawer except for an occasional carry or, now, a picture. Sort of a "Schrade Peanut"...

Nearing it's One Year anniversary as my #2 (almost)EDC... It's a rare day when this Peanut isn't in my pocket. It's a dear friend.

I recently found this Rough Rider in its box among the empty boxes in my knife box bag, i had bought it on a whim and never carried it , so i took to my shed and gave it a buff up on the wheel , i think it came up nice , i have been carrying it for a few days as a companion to my #68 Buckaroo and so far it is fine i like that it does not have a half stop as i do not care for them.

Hey old man, that's a great looking little Rough Rider! LOve the match strike nail nick and the bright yellow bone. Good dye job, nice blend of the darker brown that fades to the brighter color out near the bolsters. I have to admit the RR's make a nice looking pocket knife. Judging by the way my friend Chet abuses his, they hold to real world use pretty good as well.

jacknife that is good to know, as my peanut will not be doing much more than opening envelopes and cutting loose threads it will most likely see me out.
