I found a peanut at a pawn shop, MADE IN USA on the main blade, and USA on the pen blade. The nail nicks are on tthe same side, blades, liners, and bolsters are carbon steel. The scales are either shunken picked bone, or shrunken plastic, molded to look like picked bone. (scale color is black, so I suppose there is a slim chance they are shrunken horn of some type) There is a gap between one of the bolsters and scale on both sides of the knife wide enough to fit the tip of an Opinel number 8 in. (I had to get the gunk out somehow ...) which leads me to think the scales are shrunken. There is no shield, and no indication it ever had one. Both blades are perfectly centered, and after a little cleaning and lube with WD-40 have great walk n talk. Both blades have half stops.

Today, I discovered under the rust and petina, what looks like script written on the pen blade tang, oppisite the USA, that looks like it might say "Juvenal" with something else under that, and the number 24. The writing is really small, and hard to make out.

For some reason, I can't post pictures.

To post pics as a registered user, you have to upload pictures to an online web service. I use Photobucket. It’s free. Once uploaded, copy the web address of the picture and past it into your post.

On Photobucket, that means mousing over the picture. Clicking the gear icon that appears, choose Share Links. Then select “direct” link.

Once you have pasted the address into your post wrap it in BBS code like this:

tried. something about Avast antivirus in whatever it was that pasted into the link. I got rid of it. Oh well.

Seeing as how I don't have a smart phone, I can't comment on the procedures to post with one.
Here are Steve's pics.

Thank you, Frank.

Anyone know who the maker was and the approximate age of my peanut?

Slightly different peanut...serpentine instead of dogleg. Hope it still counts! Found it in a local junkshop for a few bucks. A little oil and it was good to go!

Beautiful Peanuts guys!!!

Pete that 6220 keeps getting better and better with age. :D

My yellow 'Nut celebrates it's One Year anniversary with me on the 10th this month. It's been my #2 in the watch pocket about 85-90% of the time since the day it arrived. The longer I have it the more I love it - I just never get tired of this little wonder.

Picked these two Peanuts up, this week. both with CV blades. You handle these a while and everything else you pick up feels huge.:D

And when you first handle them they feel tiny. I've been carrying a peanut the last few days and I never feel it in my pocket but it does my EDC stuff ith ease. I may be a convert.

My appologies to everyone. It was not my intention to misrepresent my knife as a peanut. I have been informed that with a closed length of 3 1/4 inches, it is not a peanut, but a serpintine jack.
My appologies for being stupid, I thought it was a peanut.

Just kidding, that knife looks like it was well loved and well used, it's more than welcome to hang with my peanut any day, I'm sure the previous owner is happy that it's in good hands and being used as a knife should be.

Stupid you're not. Hang around here awhile longer and you'll be as informed as the rest of us knifenuts!
Nice little knife, peanut or not. That extra 3/8" makes it just the right size in my book.
