current production schedule updates.

We will be starting to cut GSO-7/7 blades around the middle of January.* Once we have an exact date we will be sure to update the Production Schedule.
More production news:
Up next will be the GSO-3.5, scheduled to begin production in February.

Both of these are the ones I ordered. I'm super excited to see them both about to start.

It seems like stuff is moving along really well now. Great news on the 4.7 and 3.5 for me!
I'm thinking about letting go of the EDC 4 to help fund an 8.

Makes sense the 4.7 will rep'ace the edc 4 and the 8 will be a nice chopper

Haha you read my mind!
I like owning the EDC 4 but I've only used it twice in 2-3 months. Someone else can make memories with it plus these things don't belong on a shelf.

Big news in the production schedule! The order for post starter models is set!

The FAQ section has also been updated.

Here is the current SURVIVE! production schedule:

Necker II: Stay tuned for availability updates

GSO-4.1: Blanks are getting cut and machined to size

The SK Series will be available soon, starting with the SK-4.7! We are enlisting the help of 30 customers to try out the new SK steel option. Once we have their feedback we will start getting those knives put together. Check back here for availablity updates as we get closer to having those in stock.

Come on 3.5's!!!
It's kind of odd that the 4.1's aren't getting talked about much. What happened to the enthusiasm?!!

I guess if you already have on order a 5.1 or 4.7, the 4.1 won't be too much of a difference, but a 3.5 or 2.7 is. I am still waiting for my 4.1 but in all honesty I am more hyped up about the 5.1.

I guess you're right. I really thought the 4.1 would've been number one because it seems that everyone loves their original ones. The 4.7 definitely put the brakes on all of that.

Maybe because the old style 4.1 is a little more compact before the new handle redesign so it still seems like a great EDC or a day hike knife for those who don't want a shorter blade? But with the redesign it almost resembles that of a GSO 5 so most would rather just go for the new 4.7 instead. I don't know as I don't have the figures to back what I said but I am guessing this to be the case.

Yes, that's exactly my reasoning. I got the old spec 4.1 because it's more compact, and the new 4.1 and 4.7 seemed so close in size I opted for the novelty of 4.7 + new 3.5 which seems like a great improvement of the previous 3.5 (and closer in handle-size to the old 4.1).

Bingo! (See the smuck look on my face?) Lol!

It's still odd that there's barely any talk about them considering they're forth in line. I didn't order one but I'm surprised that there's no love for it on here so far.

True, but maybe everyone here already got one of the old spec and are more into the new candy?

I agree. I love the wife's, and hope to grab an identical model or similar model to hers. Very handy. I think it will pick up closer to the release date.

Also I believe originally the 4.1 was voted 3rd the 2.7 was moved ahead of it because the steel was already in house.

Good thinking! I forgot about that change along the way. But you're right the 4.1 would have been third which makes more sense. Back in my day it seemed like social media only cared about the 5.1, 4.1 and 10. I felt like such a rebel being a fan of the 5. Maybe the newness of the 4.7 bumped it up to second place in the starter offerings with the 4.1 being third. I know the 4.7 will change my life and make me a better person, but I can't wait to see what the 4.1 is all about.

I hadn't put the wife's to 'use' I did snag it for a weekend out in the woods. I made a few feather sticks with it but hadn't pounded on it like my 5.1. (She threatened me when she noticed it) but it was awesome in hand.

I sprang for the 3.5, 4.1, 4.7, 5.1, & 12.

I got the new 4.1 because I actually didn't much like the old-spec 4.1 and really wanted to try the revision.
But when I saw the unfinished 4.7 blank in Guy's first teaser-pic, I had to have one of those as well!
And the 5.1, that's a "no-brainer" for me, the original was really good, gotta try that one as well!
And the new 3.5 is so close to the 4.1, it might make the 4.1 obsolete, so i shouldn't not consider it, right? I own and enjoy a Rodent Solution which is similar in size...
And at that point, I' clearly got a problem and might as well qualify as a "knifeaddict", invest more to support Guy & Ellie & Christian, and get a knife I am unlikely to have a real practical use for but still think is awesome, so I got the 12 :D

Is the 4.1 gonna be awesome? Probably. But I'll get more excited about it the closer it gets to production :)

Makes perfect sense to me.
