current production schedule updates.

It's actually changed my knife buying habits. Now everything I buy is centered around how it'll pair well with my pre order 7/7:)
 
Hoping to land a 5 when they hit the streets. Should receive the 4.7 preorder sometime shortly thereafter and life will be complete.
 
I just spent part of my 12 preorder $$ on a BHK Woodcrafter. Too good of a deal to pass up. Now to find something else to sell :). I think a Fallkniven may have to go.

I am not really a big fan of G10 for knife scales/handles. They're ok if checkered or aggressively textured like in handguns. I think it will look nicer and draw faster with a leather sheath. But as a utility knife, a canvas micarta will be more suitable. I already ordered a canvas micarta from S and it is arriving tomorrow.
 
I believe the site last said a couple weeks so probably first part of next week people may be getting that much awaited package. Or at least an email.

Survive website: Here is the production schedule, to give you a better idea of where each GSO model is at in the production line:

GSO-5: Sold out. Orders will be shipping out over the next few weeks.
Necker II: These sold out a bit sooner than we expected. There may be a few more in stock in a few weeks, after orders have been fulfilled.
GSO-5.1: The blades are in our workshop. We are starting to see handles for these, preorders will start shipping soon.
GSO-4.7: At heat treat
GSO-2.7: On their way to production grinding
 
The 4.1 preorder was supposed to close on 31st Oct. just checked S!K website and realize that it is not closed and it looks to be still taking preorders. Even the notice "Preorder close on 31st Oct" is gone. If anyone of you guys are interested, place your orders before the status change.

I didn't even notice this, nice catch. They'll probably make the change this week since the end of the month was on the weekend. Ellie probably didn't feel like logging on in her kitty costume on Halloween :p

To be honest, I was just anxious to see the 4.1 start on the production. Can't wait to get one in my hands. I believe the 5.1 should be done soon and I am going to get that as well when it is available. The 5.1 should tie me down until the arrival of the 4.1. :)
