Now you have it right added choil,full flat grind. NOT a copy of a Koster knife. You finally get it glad we got this straightened out. Nice talking with you.

Okay guys...
first off, i want to reiterate that this is NOT my design. However, as a custom knifemaker, it is my job to make a knife to the customer's specifications, and i was contacted to make a custom knife and then did so. I was given a drawing and went from there. and while the profile of the nessie is very similar to Koster's knife and indeed an inspiration there are subtle changes. i am in no way stealing anyone's business or trying to steal a design. Honestly, i should have put the thread over in the knifemaker's section instead of here, but i cant move it now.
the knives are 98% finished. Robino, if you want any final tweaks, let me know before i ship them out. (hoping to do it this afternoon or tomorrow morning.)

add another to the list who feel that the demand for an apology or acknowledgement is unreasonable and ill conceived.
I mean, seriously, this comes up all the time and it's always someone who doesn't spend time posting anything else in this forum, and whose accusations are ridiculous given the context of the situation.

Very nice looking and forget the trolls thats your work right there! As for the whole design copy crap I could sit here and draw up 100 designs from my head without looking at any pic or knife and I doubt id get 1 original design. I didnt copy them we just happened to make the same design so kinda dumb to make that whole your copying his design especially when he wasnt the one who even came up with the design. What are you recommending he not make the knife and the customer has to get it from the other guy only?!?

i appreciate the support. I talked with Dan and he said that while he couldn't publicly endorse anything he didn't feel infringed upon after i explained the situation. so we are goo there!
and now on to the knives!
i put a coat of protective wax on the knives after taking the edge to 1500 grit and then stropping with leather. they are shaving sharp.. oh the irony. lol
these were by far the largest "knives" i have made and were a nice challenge. and it is teh first time i have ever used flared tubes, which was an experience, and one that i will learn from and refine. they are hefty but fill well in the hand and beg to cut something. I got through the 2x4 in less than a 10 swings with each knife. i like them.

I love'm both!! I'd like to see if you could modify either of those designs to come up w/a Khukri style blade??
