custom/handmade Japanese inspired tanto pics

I can't get enough of your stuff Dave.

Here are a couple tanto I have done this year....

I forgot all about this thread... but am stoked that it got resurrected.

Ben... I'm really digging the stuff that you're turning out lately. Your handles look uber-clean... and the blade grinds all look sharp, with crisp taper. Very nice.

I haven't done a ton of Japanese-inspired work recently... but here are a few.

Interesting Stuff.

I love the design of this one. It needs a traditional sheath made from titanium/horn or hammered copper/brass... Maybe a mokume? I would go with a mokume and phosphoric etch the outside... Then hit it with a flat enamel. Just my own humble opinion.
Beautiful work. I love the traditional Japanese blades you make.

Here was my take on a small takedown style tanto. I took inspiration from islandblacksmith's work.

Hey Dudley... that has always been one of my favorites. I haven't seen Joe around much lately, and I really miss his sense of style.

You've probably all seen these before... but here are a few of my tanto-esque knives.

Beautiful work here. I love to see traditional Japanese blades or modern interpretations on the design on here. Good stuff, thanks for sharing.
