A couple more for the record.

One a BM auto that never had a clip on it before. Another an Emerson Commander now sporting a low rider clip utilizing one of the handle scale screws and the middle screw hole from the original clip.

The last one was a bit tricky but I managed. It is a Bob Terzuola folder with a cut out or inlay for how the clip mounts recessed. The fold over I made for it had to be bent once and then bent again to lift it out of the recess so it would mount correctly. Then the bead blast by itself looked off and I discovered that Bob also lightly anodized the body to give it the darker look. So with a little experimenting I was able to blend the clip by anodizing it to match the rest of the knife better than if I had left it with just the bead blast finish.

I would like one for my William henry folder. Can I send you a pic of what I want? Thanks.

Dannyvi's William & Henry now sports a new custom titanium clip.

Thanks D.

hey there can you do this for strider folders ? is it possible for you to recreate the heat striped ti ? let me know please...

thanks

I am sure I could make the clip but I've never tried to do the heat stripe. Not even sure how they do it or if they do it on titanium. Aren't the Strider clips stainless? Put a magnet on the one that came on the knife and see if it sticks.

Thank Dan. I tell you that titanium handle was a challenge to get threaded. W&H must have heated it up to harden it or something because it seemed to be a bit harder than others I've done that were even thicker than it is. I wonder if it is some other higher alloy mix or grade of titanium they use over there other than the standard knifemaker grade 6AL-4V. I could sure tell the difference with the tap and even drilling it out seemed to be a bit slower than the usual.

i dont have a magnet handy but i'm pretty sure its titanium... let me know if its a possibility and i'll order one when my smf arrives

I had a friend check his Striders with a magnet. Apparently the clips are titanium. I looked at the clip on the SNG and I do believe that it would be possible to do a fold over low rider clip for it but as for matching it to the finish of the rest of the knife there is just no way for me to know about that.

The best I could do is try to anodize it close to the same color or shade after bead blasting the clip. It may be possible to get some grayish/brown stripes on the clip but anodizing doesn't produce a black color so I know I couldn't do that.

Without seeing the knife in question and having it in my shop to try to do something like what you ask through some trial and error experimentation I can't say for sure how it would go. Looking at it the clip looks plenty wide enough that if I copied it and folded it over it would work. I am a little curious of the mounting of it since it seems to have just one screw. I wonder if it sits in a cut out or recess in the handle or not but can't tell from the pics.

a portion of the pocket clip does sit in a hole in the frame... this along with the screw keep it from moving...

Ah, I see that now. I found a better pic on the web of it up close. There is really no way I can duplicate that piece sticking out in a fold over. Someone with a milling machine maybe but I'd be hard pressed to come up with a way to cut that out let alone heat just that small piece to bend it. The only way to get a fold over type to work on it would require another hole that was threaded.

here's some pics of the one STR made for me on my para-military, I wanted it nice n low:

Sorry if I missed the answer to my question in previous post. But could your reverse the clip on the Benchmade Skirmish? What about a small filler piece where the clip is now? And could you make the clip smaller, it's way to big from BM.

Thanks,

Paul

Paul I looked through all the posts here again to be sure and I don't see that you posted a question in a previous post.

But in answer to your question the clip could be reversed from the looks of it. I would need the knife in hand to do it. In the event that the clip is curved the wrong way or won't look right I'd be more able to advise you once it is in hand. It may be that making a separate clip for it is the best way to go so it is specifically set up for tip up carry. I can make a small clip for it if that is what you want.

I can also add a plate to remount to the old spot for tip down carry.

You are looking at about $30 shipped to do all that. Let me know if I can help you out.

Couple more low riders. This time for a Burgundy ZDP189 Calypso Jr. and an 83MM Manix.
