Funny you should ask that because I'll have another coming here soon. SO, yes I can.

Contact me via email in my profile and we'll go from there.

Thanks

Joe Dirts got him a low rider for his Kershaw Scallion.

I'm interested in a lowrider clip for a Mini griptilian. I didn't much care for the smaller size of the mini-pika clip some folks used on their Grips.

How much would that be and would you need the knife?

STR is great to work with. I would email him directly. Just to make sure he gets your message. Hope everything works out for you.

Thanks Deathshead.

Benh. I will have to see the knife in question before I know what can be done. If you have a scanner or digital camera take some pics of the clip side and email them to me and we'll go from there.

Thanks.

Here we have a south paw low riding Terzuola folder. This one also got a lock repair from excessive blade play. It locks up tight now Doug.

Low Riding and "Deep riding Storm.

Someone asked me why Kershaw can't just do this. I think I know now. It would require two different clips depending on which way you wanted to carry your knife. Most people don't want the deep look but it really doesn't interfere with the use of the knife at all. This maybe could be done with just one clip. It may help if they changed the positioning of the mounting holes but as it is it would be three clips per knife. Not really feesible cost wise since clips are more expensive to produce than people may realize.

I bought this Storm today for myself just because I liked it. I didn't care for how it rides in the pocket in tip up carry though so that is what brought this clip about.

These are some very nice frame locks. I'd pit this lock against anything else I have seen to date including many of the so called heavy duty high dollar folders out there. For $30 plus tax this is as fine a deal in the knife world in frame locks that I've seen.

STR, just sent you an email with a link to some photos of my Mini-RSK, to see about a lowrider clip.

Thanks.

I have to see the knife in question to know. None of the pictures I have pulled up on that 630 show me the clip that is on it well enough for me to know. Send me pics of the clip side so I can see what I'm up against and we'll go from there.

Thanks.

BenH. I got your email and replied in the affirmative.

Thanks

Thanks.

The clip on that knife is awful close to the edge and the fold over may stick out past the edge of the body. Not good if that is the case. It may not be possible on that one to make a fold over or low rider style work. The fold over part has to be wide enough to allow the access for the holes. I am just not sure I could pull it off for you.

Usually when they stick out past the edge it makes the knife uncomforable in the hand.

Keep tabs of this thread. I do have a Skirmish coming that I am going to make an attempt on a low rider with. If it goes well it will be posted here and I'll know more then once I have it in hand.

Thanks

Every now and again I do one of these for someone. It is always kind of funny to me because this upgrade runs more money than the knife costs new at Wal-Mart but it is so very sweet afterwards that I always ask myself the same question each time I do one. "Why doesn't Buck offer a thumb stud and pocket clip option with this great 'hand me down quality built' American Classic?" Even with the heavy duty lock on these knives they are no harder to open one handed than a common mid lock from Spyderco.

Its one of those questions that never gets answered I guess. I can't help but believe that there are many guys out there that would gladly pay ten or fifteen more bucks for a 110 like this from the factory.

Anyway, here is another of perhaps 10 or more Buck 110s I've made into one hand opening knives with a pocket clip for forum members over the years.

I anodized the new titanium tip up carry standard style pocket clip a darker bronze or tarnished brass color to help blend it in better to the brass handles. Because of the heft of the knife these clips are .050 thick also instead of the .040 I ususally use.

As a final touch I added a thin strip of 'grip strip' in the form of some 3M skid guard material. This blends in so well to the Macassar Ebony handles that you have to look to see it. This aids the thumb in having something to grip better for extracting the knife from the pocket. It doesn't sit up off the knife any farther than the pins from the factory and the tacky grip is a great help for a hefty knife.

Thanks for looking.

Sorry if this was already asked ... do one for a strider PT or Spyderco Penknife yet?

thanks,

ryan

Have not on the Pen knife. Looked closely at the Strider and due to the way its made with the single hole and a protrusion coming off it to secure it from moving sideways I didn't think it could be done with simple hand tools.

Sorry.
