CUSTOM MACHETE Challenge!

I can't wait for this. Those are great looking blades in very capable hands!

This is going to be incredible. Nice backyard to play in.
As always, when the big tools are whipped out, Rick's is the shortest.:)

I feel blessed and lucky that Joe asked me to do this. This kind of comparison is what I love to do. I am sooooo impressed with these choppers! :D

I resemble that remark!:p

Seriously though.... the first blade I had made for this contest was 28"OA. It chopped really well. Then I started to think "Would I use this day in and day out?" the answer was, NO. So I rethought what was important to me in a bush tool, then squeezed it all into a compact design. It was more of a challange to me, than to outchop the competition. These guys are all great makers and I'm happy to be in with them. I purposely went to the minimum dimensions to put the emphasis on geometry and ergonomics. I'm anxious to see the results of my gamble.

I'm excited to see the other makers have entered unique designs, rather than pumping out Tramontina knock-offs. I expected nothing less! Awesome.

Rick

Fine looking blades guys, I have my favorite but I'm waiting until the tests ate done before I say anything.

Rick's may be the shortest but it does appear to be the thickest.

These are incredible looking blades.

We must always throw barbs at Rick. As all of us that have used tools made by him, his work is unequaled but we cannot let him get too cocky.

I am still awaiting Farmer's and Siegle's entries. I have had some great weather for outdoor activities lately. My chopping hand is starting to twitch in anticipation. :D
