This is going to be a blast. As luck would have it, I will be out next week. Please, if you makers have not already shipped, wait until after Easter to ship them to me so I can be here to receive them. I don't trust the postal workers down in the 'hood. Looks like April is going to be an action packed chopping fest on my neglected property.:D

Well THAT is wonderful news. Mine should be there just after you leave. If that thing goes "missing" in the hood... some homie heads should roll.:grumpy:

I've lost 2 knives that shipped overseas and "disappeared". Deep breath, Rick....

Rick

I am hopeful that yours will arrive before I leave, Rick. My letter carrier is reliable and trustworthy, but I have had things to disappear downtown. Let's both hope for the best. I look forward to seeing and using your beautiful work of art.

I tracked it... and it entered the US on the 22nd... no idea how customs is treating it... hopefully you get it before the weekend.

Magnussen's beautiful parang arrived safely at the Horn Dog testing compound today. Look for the others to start showing up right after Easter and the big fun to start shortly thereafter. Man this thing is nice!

Friggin' Savage!

Yeah it is. I can't keep my paws off of this thing. I'm hoping Bruce Culbertson's comes in before I have to leave next week. It made it to the US. He shipped last week, too. Who would think that Canada would be so well represented in a machete contest? April is going to be a fun month. I'll be looking for the rest of them when I get back. I had the pleasure of using one of Farmer's goloks last year. It was most impressive. These are going to be some sweet choppers to try out. :D

I sent mine on the 16th and according to the tracking info it entered the US on the 19th. It seems like they usually sit in customs for ~week before getting delivered.

Have a good trip Horn Dog!

I gave my letter carrier a heads up today to expect it. I'm hoping it comes in tomorrow or Saturday. She will be holding all my mail deliveries for next week, so everything should be ok. She looks out for me pretty well.

Glad you got it, Horn Dog. Thanks for the compliment on the looks of it.... lets hope it lends itself well to "Spring Cleaning" your backyard brush.

Rick

Bruce Culberson's chopping monster came in this week. As soon as I get all the machetes in, I'll do the comparison. I just had to try this one out. It's a nice Spring day. The beast has a 17" blade of 1/8" thick 1080 steel with a very sharp convex edge. The wood handle (rosewood?) is over 7" long and affords a lot of different grips. The machete weighs a bit over 20 oz.

The machete sails right through tough palmetto trunks with ease. And it chopped through some hard wood with no damage at all to the thin edge.

It came with a fine well made leather sheath like Rick Marchand's nice Parang.
I'll play around with the Parang tomorrow if I have time.

My long neglected backyard eagerly awaits the other entries. Some folks hunt. Some golf. I chop stuff in my yard for my recreation! :D

Tagged for awesomeness. Thanks all fordoing this. It should provide plenty of good reading and drooling.

Koyote's entry arrived today. It has a differentially tempered 17" blade of 1/8" thick 1080 steel and a beautiful burlap micarta handle. I almost feel guilty using these beauties. Almost. :D
