Hey guys,
Finally got this done as of 04-29-2012! Thing has been in the works for weeks now and just sanded down the (tough as hell) pins yesterday morning so updating most of the pics now to show the finnished product so sorry if you visited this and found there were few pics of this beast. Overall I think it came out quite well but one complaint I DO have against this is the scale thickness, they're made of 1/4" G-10 but I think it would be alot better if it were just a hair bit thicker (shame I cant add some liners) and maybe that the I removed to much steel from the front and now the blade has a more neutral balance. Ummm... Yeah... No Idea what else to say about this, maybe that the convex reprofiling job was done by hand and took me 9 (!) hours? Anyway, if anyone ever wants to give something like this a go I'd say go for it! Its not hard, so long as you keep the blade cool when grinding and be mindful of the edge (I actually hit the very back of the edge a bit when removing the front guard ;))Coincidently, I'm beckerhead#205 and this is my 205th post... Kinda fitting isn’t it?

NEW PICS CAN BE FOUND ON POST #84!

HERE IT IS...YOU EITHER LOVE IT OR HATE IT

The sheath from behind...Nylon webbing allows for it to be carried horizontally/scout style, high ride and regular low carry.

Not to brag but pictures cant show how good these look together ...
NOTE: You can see the epoxy filled handle of the BK-2 if you look closely in the 2nd picture (just the very back of it is epoxy).

Ferro notch DOES work, just remind me to clean it up.

Getting better at convex edges so I think its socially acceptable to show this off, unfotunatly the convex edge in this pic is actually to steep and causes the edge to roll. (Its now fixed as of about a week after starting this thread.)

Sooo...What do you all think? Seriously, even if you hate it please post your thoughts.

Just cos I've been asked if I actually mod these or do I buy them or what I'm saying now that yeah, I do this all by hand in a corner of my garage...Not bad for a 15 year old with a bench grinder and a dremel tool, no?...oh wait you hate it? That’s cool I guess... I'm only doing this till I get a job at Ka-Bar...HAHAHAHA like that’s ever gonna happen…

Cheers for now guys...(Stares at BK-5 and turns on grinder........:D........

Looks pretty darn good. Whats the intended use of the front notch you put on the spine? Baton? That edge looks like a heck of a convex. Good work!!!

Love that convex, I'm not so keen on the blade shape, but hey, its well done.

And those are some great pics by the way.

Thanks man. The front notch didnt really have a purpose when I ground it out (Should really think about things before I do them) but battoning is a good example.

Yeah, I didnt think to many people would be hot on the shape.

It takes all kinds of things to make the world go around, and in the knife biz, there ain't nothing new under the sun, so to speak. New blade shapes are a rare find, and you have a very unique one.

It doesn't effect the function of the knife, and I'm sure it serves a purpose. Which is what sparks new designs all the time.

I just like very spartan shapes with simple lines, I always have. Hence my love of the 1911.

I think you did a helluva job, and should be damn proud of it.

Thank you Mr. Moose, but I cant take credit for the design, it was inspired by some of Mike Gavko's knives...Just squished up to the front.

Lolz, you said squished. Look at some of the Habilis Tools. Some very eclectic designs there, but all based on function. Maybe Gavko inspired, but Cam created. Makes it yours. Like I said, you should be proud.

Amazing looking knive for sure. You just made it your own and there is nothing wrong with that when you made it look as good as you did!!! Great job.

Looks like a Habilis Bush Tool to me. I have one, Still not sure what it brings to the table. It's cool and different, in sort of Neanderthal way. But I'm still not sure it will remain in the rotation.

But from a technical standpoint very nice work. It looks good on the BK-2

I like them, but no matter how much Dave C followers say "scandi grinds rule".....I just can't get used to them.

Looks good Cam. As long as you like it, thats what matters.

I was wondering when someone would comment on this saying it looked like a habilis bushtool...But from what I've heard Habilis blades unfortunatly have terrible geometry...Is that true?

I probably wouldn't have taken off the front guard part of the handle....

I removed the guard cos IMO, it looks nicer and more even. Plus I dont have any G-10 that is big enough for the regular handle.

Nice work, and very unique looking. I like it personally. I've been doing some mock ups on my 9, see what I can come up with.

If you pull up the final episode of Dual Survival Season 2 (where Cody is banging on the stupid car hood) the Bushtool is what Dave is using. Not sure what you are reffering to regarding geometry...

Here's a pic of my buddys bushtool...

When I say geometry, I'm refering to the edge, saying the edge isnt at the proper angle and therefore will not take a good edge. Btw, the finale of DS2 is something that I havent seen either.
