Custom Slipjoints

Jim for my taste in Jack Knifes the aesthetics are wrong. It will probably make you a fine knife. As it looks to be well built..

I just wanted to say that I have had the chance to handle a few of Mike's knives. I am very impressed with them and I must say that most of the photos I have seen do not do the knives justice. I think Mike has his own style and thus his knives standout in a good way.

Ken, Thanks for your input. As I stated Mike's knives look to be well made. My taste in spring back knives run to the more Traditional aesthetics. Your knives follow this form more closely. I'm not saying your's are better build they just follow a more traditional look which I prefer as stated..

Thanks for the kind comment as far as my knives following more closely the traditional form. I really enjoy studying the vintage slips and TRYING to recreate the look and feel of them.

I really think this forum is a wonderful place to learn my craft. What makes this place special is the different talent that is represented along with folks with all different tastes.

This is my latest addition to my collection of knives that I have with handle material I have sent to lots of makers. I am impressed with the walk and talk of this Barlow, it has been my EDC for a while. I love the handles and the treatment that he gave that old G-11 of mine. The green G-11 turns nearly white when worked in thin sheets. Very Pleased with knife.

Jim that's a nice looking Barlow. That G11 makes pretty scales.

Thanks for the compliment.

Hard to believe that it was once mint green or margarita green as Kerry Hampton calls it.

Tito, posted a fixed blade yesterday or day before that had similar work on scales and he said they appeared as if they would glow in the dark. Have not gotten that knife yet. But looking forward to it.

I removed the makers name from the blade. . . . .just to make it a bit interesting. :p :D
